In the gammut of Cup Final chatter, I haven't noticed mention of the fact Hibs started the second half with only nine men on the pitch. Murphy and Jones entered the field of play a few seconds after kick off.

A another refereeing clanger or us giving Killie a wee chance?

I was going nuts about this at the time, and on reflection it was the players' fault- we kicked off, I'm sure we could have waited!

I blame the referee.

For example, if you have a man sent off during the first-half, the referee should ensure you only have 10 on the field prior to restarting the game.

Same should go when it's 11 v 11

So how would the ref know if the 2 players in question were receiving treatment in which case it's Hibs choice to keep them off the pitch and not sub them.

Cos he asks when he enters the dressing room to tell both teams that the game is re-starting.

Hence the reason he delays the start to make subsitutions after HT.

Ref hits a wee buzzer that goes off in the changing rooms plus all changes are given to the fourth official, which is why the subs are usually first out the door to draw the refs attention to the fact and stop him re-starting the match

Surely the ref still has to note them ?

Professional level refs wont go into ANY teams dressing room and neither will they/should they talk to managers in theirs either before or during a game ie HT. The ref notes changes but it is the 4th official that controls the introduction onto the field

It is up to the teams to make sure their players are on the park in time. There were the minimum number of Hibs players required to start the game (ie 7) and so there was technically no need for any hold up. Whether it was an oversight on the part of Dougie the Hibby...I'm on the case and will find out
