Re: Mikey Stewart

Expect that might tip the scales and he'll be off.

Maybe if he'd signed a contract he'd have played.

Looks like the players who've committed their futures by signing contracts were chosen, even if they might be away sooner rather than later.

I think you're vastly mistaken since Stewart was rested due to his virus LS has hardly put a foot wrong, in fact he's played that well out of his natural position he was YPOTM for Feb. JC has stated numerous times that once a player is in the side HE has to do something to warrant losing his place. Obviously LS has been able to keep his place and Mikey is not a happy bunny, IMO GOOD I'm glad players are annoyed at not being in the side it shows hunger and should MS get his place back he'll want to hold onto it

Re: Mikey Stewart

To be honest I though we should have brought Stewart on for Beuzelin after Greer scored. OK we scored twice more but for 5-10 minutes we were looking like conceding.

Re: Mikey Stewart

I'll stick my neck out and predict that Mikey will play a big part in our efforts in winning the SC. Either the semi or the (hopefully) final.

I think he also will be of in the Summer. Think Jc made a sly point on Sunday that if you wont commit your future when somethings on the table, i wont commit you to my starting line 11, and for that i respect JC even more.

JC had to leave either Lewis, Boozy or Mikey on the bench. Was surprised it wasnt Boozy after his recent form but JC called it spot on as all three of them had great games. Thats just the way it is when there's a talented squad to choose from. I hope Mikey stays when Scotty moves on at the end of the season.

Re: Mikey Stewart

A wee bird says Michael and JC don't see eye to eye - MS thinks JC, erm, er, erm...arrogant.

There's an irony in there somewhere.

And this week of all weeks, JC walks on water anyway!

I personally hope they can work together long term but I think JC is looking to next season already - and blooding McCann and Stevenson is part of that plan.

Suspect Mikey will say goodbye after Hampden on May 26th. Hopefully with a winners medal

I also got told this. In fact I got told it was more than just Mikey Stewart that didn't like JC. They looked as though the liked him on Sunday though - well apart from Mikey Stewart.

Re: Mikey Stewart

The French speaking trio adore him and the youngsters think he is the dugs baws. The likes of Jones, Hogg, Murphy and Simon Brown have no problem with him either.

One or two midfielders who had been at the club a few years maybe have felt insecure about having a gaffer who is fitter and was a better player than them...just a wee hunch

Thankfully he seems to be finding his way round the other two apart from MS...

He has to run the team HIS way not the way the players had gotten comfy with under Mogga. He has brought in new training methods and new fitness expectations - and so he should.

I'd take Sunday over any of the Magic Mogga Moments any time - I am not convinced we would have won had we not changed managers as we are now more astute in many ways and that "arrogance" is merely the natural confidence of a natural born winner

Because we didn't have a holding midfielder or a depth of experience and talent at the club, why run the risk of losing cup semis/finals just to prove a very childish point, highly Romanovesque behaviour IMO

JC is in the gym for an hour every morning BEFORE the players arrive for training and RUNS home from the training ground down in Granton whilst the rest of them get "bused" back to ER.

He could probably give half of them a run for their money where fitness is concerned.

If I remember correctly, he took Zemmama out for a run around Holyrood Park during his recuperation on his own because none of the rest of the squad could last it out?

Spot on. The best thing for Hibs would be for this matter to be resolved positively - Mikey Stewart is a real talent. Let's hope everyone is grown up and we move on. The Broonaldo situation has at least stabilised for now, we could also do with a happy Mikey Mikey.

Mind you, it's not like him to get grouchy at a club
