They don't but they could lead to other things - disgruntled fans fighting with police, mobbing players, refusing to leave the field of play, damaging turf etc. etc.

was dissapointed that it got stopped so soon after waiting ages in the ground. however managed to have a few cans in with me. had came in without any then saw others were openly drinking so ran out for some supplies. Musta looked like the micheline man when I got back

cans stuffed everywhere. still singing was good in the east and wasnt too bad. maybe we will have to resort to what yams did and charge people to get in to help pay for more police/stewards

disgruntled funs - only if the police behave like they did last night. that was THEIR fault. simple as that.

mobbing players - the players i spoke to were utterly delighted and fantastic banter (boozy especially, great bloke).

refusing to leave the field of play - only if they have a reason to, which is the police's responsibilty to avoid. plus, it's not exactly the end of the world if there are fans on the pitch for another 20 mins.

damaging turf - we have 13 days between last night and the derby to rectify the turf.

etc. etc. - i stand corrected. you're right.

You dont seem to look at the bigger picture mate, a day that should have been joyous has been tainted by those not only jumping the pitch, but also hurdling themselves through a barrier (and someone actually mentioning their fathers full name - well done by the way) and giving a guy lets face it trying to do their job a hiding - thats something serious, what starts of being 100-200 people could have easily escaladed to much greater amounts - if a young one had of been trambled on in the pitch would your view change to that being serious because it could have easily happened.....regardless of what you or others think, it was stupid, irresponsible and for many ruined their day out and that my friend is a scientific fact (Champ Kind, 2004)

what you are failing to see is that it was not the 100-200 people on the pitch that caused this. it was the reaction of the police.

no harm was being done when people were on the pitch. it was all in very good spirits.

then you get an over-reaction by the police, and the unsavoury events that followed were a result of this. they didn't need to stop people coming into the stadium. they didn't need to threaten to cancel the party. nothing was wrong untill they stepped in.

it's their job to keep control of things. their actions nearly LOST their control of the events.

the police are a joke.

Thats fine except you werent the only person at the stadium there were many others within the bounce who attended, and also branded these fans a disgrace. Im annoyed but only for those that turned up and had it spoiled, had i of made the 100mile round trip to have that happen, i for one wouldnt be blaming it on the police. Did the police force the fans onto the pitch... i doubt it, if noone went onto the pitch i very much doubt we would be having this conversation. End of for me.

not really.

you basically said "aye, well a'body else thinks yer wrong" and failed to address the points i've raised.

the police didn't force the fans on the pitch, but AS I SAID, the fans were doing absolutely no harm, everyone was happy...and then the police over reacted.

I see you ammended your post above to change "EVERYONE" ---> "you" not quick enough mate, because you put "EVERYONE doesnt understand" is why i wrote what i did, i did address your point. I do think your wrong, obviously the police didnt force the fans onto the pitch that wasa satarical remark. EVERYONE was not happy theres a YOUTUBE video inside the "Name And Shame" (Edit @ 23:54; i actually cant find the video its one which shows the first instance of the invasion) thread on the bounce here you can clearly hear people shouting obsenities im fairly certain they are directed at those who were on the pitch. A point i made earlier of which you didnt address was that of if a child happened to have been trampled on in the middle of the pitch would that change your view to "Serious", im not trying to single you out by the way your perfectly entitled to your opinion. But like i said had people not of jumped onto the pitch we wouldnt be talking about this right now and im thinking the players would have done their lap and everything would have been rosey!

well, as i have said before, maybe celebrating goals shoudn't be alowed in the east stand when we're playing the OF or the gunts.

if that's all you've got...

(and please, in your reply, try not to waffle about how everyone "agrees with you" and just address the bloody point)

Again "EVERYONE" was used as a mean of mickey poking because you used it earlier, changed it and then accussed me of not addressing your points and had a go.

Personally i couldnt care if nobody said people jumping onto the pitch was wrong I/ME/MY(FECKING)SELF can use my own inititive to see why those fans were in wrong. From your explanation then is it perfectly legitimate after EVERY game we win for fans to charge the pitch, or even after every goal we score (perhaps this time you could actually address some of my questions instead of stuttering around it)

you know fine well that is not what i mean.

that just wouldn't happen.

i don't remember all this shite after the pitch invasions post-qualifying for europe 2 seasons ago.

the difference in the two instances?

the police didn't cancel everything that time.

i've answered every point you've made (or at least tried - please tell me where i've not).

Your 'every one is happy' arguement is flawed.

WHY?? - According to you nobody is doing any harm (before you crack on about it again i was being sarcy, which is why is one of the reasons i put it in, in the first place). The other reason is because you compared it to the analogy of fans not supporting against the gunts or OF, since when has being a supporter been about jumping the pitch which leads me to.........

Ive wrote twice why "I" deemed it to be a cause for concern or safety matter for people getting onto the pitch and you've not addressed it on either occassion.

what i meant by that was that i have taken a few bumps and bruises after a goal in the east stand.

surely there's a risk of a four year old getting trampled in there.

shut it down.

i don't know what's different. but my point that isn't my point at all.

i'm not saying that people SHOULD have invaded the pitch, and that any real fan would have done so (mandy

)

i'm saying that there was no problem with people being on the pitch untill the police over-reacted.

the risks were all very, very minimal, not much more than at any other football match.
