was in San Sebastian in the summer and was made very welcome by the locals .used to be a very popular place with Brits before the troubles and I intend to visit the area this year and do a more detailed visit to the whole area .
wonderful bay and public beach and some very interesting bars |

Don't be put off by the media reports about the Basque country as Donostia (San Sebastian) Bilbo (Bilbao) and Gasteiz (Vitoria) are all very easy to get to and well worth a visit.

The people are very friendly, there is no evidence on the surface at least of the political problems and all the cities are extremely well off compared to the neighbouring Spanish cities.
