TICKET SELL-OUT


HIBS have been allocated almost 25,000 tickets for their Scottish Cup semi-final with Dunfermline next month after selling nearly 28,000 briefs for Sunday's CIS Cup Final against Kilmarnock.

Officials have now started a waiting list for fans disappointed to have missed out on attending Sunday's bid for the first silverware since the Skol Cup triumph of 1991.


Club secretary Garry O'Hagan said: "Fans who did not get Cup Final briefs should give their details to the ticket office and as tickets become available, and there are always some, we'll work our way through the list."

More like 35 000 wi folk locked out. The game was pay at the gate.

It was pay at the gate and there were a load of Hibs fans locked out, but what made it more ridiculous was half the Dunfermline end was empty.

Maybe it was me not listening to my dad properly he probaly said....there would of been at least 50,000 Hibees but thousands got locked out.

Considering we'd done the Huns in the S-Final, molocated the Pars 3-zip at ER a couple o' weeks earlier, and didnae huvtae buy a ticket for the Final, then that set up a mass exodus o' Hibbies thru' to the Weege.

Murdo MacLeod was fantastic for us that night. Dictated the whole game.

Would imagine we'll be able to get plenty extra tickets for the Pars game should they be required, can't see them taking any more than 10k absolute maximum through so will surely be two per ST holder again.

The crowd at the game was only 40.377 of which a reasonable estimate of Hibs fans would be something like 32,000 - 34,000 and the gates were shut at around 2.50pm -2.55pm in certain areas due to the fact that the game wasn't all ticket and instead was cash (Remember that

Due to this mis- management I'd say a few thousand Hibs fans missed the game and the best decision I ever made is not having that extra pint as I got in at 2.45pm.

Remember turning round from the top of the old celtic end and seeing about a hundred fans coming up the stairs and then looking beyond the turnstyles and seeing a mass of green being turned away, weird feeling and if we had another pint we might have not got in.

Did we not do the Pars 5-0? Seem to remember that was the game that McGraw suffered a horrendous injury - basically ending his career (he was never the same when he came back).

doubt it. didn't manage 20,000 for the semi last season so dont think it'll be different for this one

Except there will be more fans going 'cos they believe we can/will win this one! Unfortunate - but true. Add to that it's being played at a normal time and won't be live on telly.
