Bouncers are brilliant

I posted earlier today about how fecked off I was by the public sale being pushed back because I live in London and I've had to book time off work and buy train tickets without knowing whether I'm going or not. Wasn't meaning to drop hints or anything, just venting my frustration.

Then I get a PM from a bouncer offering to let me use his address as a drop off for the match tickets to give me an extra couple of days (I didn't need it in the end as I can use my parents' address in Dumfries, but still, I really appreciated it).

The another fella PMs me to say he'll queue for me on Sunday morning if I can't get a ticket over the phone.

I've never met either of these guys before (no names - don't want to embarrass anyone!), they were just doing it out of basic decency, I just wanted to post to say the Bounce is brilliant and I'm made up by people's generosity

Re: Bouncers are brilliant

Great stuff which kind of reaffirms your faith. I have been taken aback by some of the kindness I've been offered too over the years. On all the Hibs sites. Here's a few:

One person on hearing that I was struggling for a b & b on a trip up offered me accomodation in his own home. This was in spite of never having met me.

I and my partner have gratefully accepted the kind offer of accomodation in friend's homes

I've had people stand in the cold queueing to get me a ticket alongside theirs.

I couldn't tell you the amount of times I've been offered and sent dvd's and programmes, one a commemorative program after Joe Baker passed away.

I was surprised one morning to find a card signed by Lawrie Reilly, pop through my letterbox, sent by a great friend.

I have been sent countless fanzines.

There have been nights in Edinburgh and Leith when it's been literally impossible to buy a round of drinks in. Much to my embarrassement!

People I've never met send me birthday greetings every November in personal messages.

Finally a great Hibby friend rang me here in Nottingham on her mobile when the great Joe Baker was paid his last respects by the Easter Road faithful. I joined in the minute's silence 280 miles away for a poignant last hurrah for my hero.

Incomparable.

As are Hibs fans.
