Re: howler revisited

It isn't even as if he's distracted, or takes his eyes off it. He watches it all the way into his hands and it goes straight through and he immediately thumps the ground.

The next clip - McGregor makes a very good save. Just sums up our problems really.

Pathetic.

Re: howler revisited

Saw the 2nd goal on BBC Breakfast Time this morning. The English presenter summed it up when he said "If you are Hibs fan - or a member of Simon Brown's family - then look away now".

Oh dear, it was a total howler.

McNeill will no doubt be back in goals next week, but Brown will be his back-up for potentially 2 cup finals. So, I suggest we lay off him and forget all about what happened yesterday.

However, next season, we need to get a keeper with experience in the same way that Miller did with Burridge. McNeill & Groff are the future and they can only benefit from an "old-head" to help continue their development.

Re: howler revisited

Actually I think Simon Brown's "exploits" on sunday should mean him dropped totally and that young Grof should sit on the bench as cover for McNeil

Re: howler revisited

Was thinking along the same lines also. However....

While Groff looks like a excellent 'keeper, he is still vastly inexperienced, and to have 2 teenager 'keepers in the squad for a cup final scares the shit out of me.

Why does JC not play Groff against Falkirk, and see if he can handle the step up to the first team?

I see where your coming from but look what happened when we gave Zibby the benefit of the doubt on more than one occasion.Brown made some high profile mistakes when first signed by mowbray and that yesterday has proven that he simply is not good enough to wear the famous green & white jersey.Bin him,bin malkowski and bring in a keeper who can catch a ball and not flap at crosses.

It's still not as bad as his classic at Swynie. That's how I will forever remember the useless fool.

More than the thought of Zibi Malclownshoes or Brown the Clown??

Neither of those two should ever play for Hibs again at any level IMO

out of interest who do you think was hibs last genuinly good goalkeeper?

Colgan was ok but ive not felt confident with our keepers since leighton left

Everyone keeps passing over Ally Brown. He should be on the bench not David Grof.

Watchin the howler in person was bad enough, what was worse was making them look good. When folk look at the scoreline they'll think Rangers played better than us. Maybe Brown should try not spreading butter on his gloves before the game. Wait, is that Zibi?

Was in the local street team in West Piltom around as a 13 years old. As a female ,I was only picked for the only vacant position- goalie . I tried my best but I always remember the forward advising me that if theres a low ball coming in, try to get your F**ing legs and feet behind your hands , so if you miss it, it'll bounce of your legs and you might have a second chance.Maybe if Simon Brown had done his apprenticeship in the wilds of West Pilton, he might have been better.
