Hogg - MOM

I thought Hogg thoroughly deserved his MOM award - fair play to him

'Wee Hoggy' (Merged Threads)

Fantastic game. IMO best player on the park.

His partnership with big Jones looks much more of a partnership than the Martis/Jones option..

IMO Hogg and Martis would be better than Hogg and Jones. That said Hogg did well today

Re: 'Wee Hoggy' (Merged Threads)

Fully deserved motm for Hogg with Whittaker and Stevenson doing very well too. The rest were average at best imo with Boozy doing a great hide and seek act again in yet another big game.

Re: 'Wee Hoggy' (Merged Threads)

Hogg had a brilliant game along with Stevenson. MOTM Could have been either one of them but probably the right decision.

After the inverness horror show I thought he was finished at hibs but today hogg was outstanding - shows you how much I know about fiitba. He's defintiely ahead ahead of martis now for me.

Re: 'Wee Hoggy' (Merged Threads)

Thought young Mr Hogg was braw today, as were both full backs, with an honourable mention for young Stevenson in midfield(Bazz Freguhun struggled against the youngster).

All in all thought it was a half decent display, with one obvious exception!!

Agree. Hoggy had a great game and there were quite a few with decent showings - Murphy is coming back onto a great game again after an indifferent first half of the season IMO, for instance...

Stevenson shows he can handle the big games yet again and Whitty was superb in the second half ... all in all, I am not that despondant after today ...

... so long as Si Brown isn't allowed anywhere near the goalie's jersey from now on ....

SlovSam has a spectacular aura about
Re: 'Wee Hoggy' (Merged Threads)

I though 'Wee Hoggy' was excellent today though it wasn't his best performance from Hibs as that was in the 0-3 Scottish Cup victory over 'Scotland Shame' last year.

However next week he may be outstanding again and the next he will be awful and the following week he will be average and then awful again as that is just the nature of a player who isn't big enough, quick enough or strong enough to become a permanent fixture at the heart of the defence.

He does read the game very well though and seems a lot more mentally tough than last year. but players like 'Wee Hoggy' sum up the ambition of a team that will always challenge for a top 6 place and maybe occassionly challenge for Europe

However I think Hibs are such a rich and financially powerful club in SPL terms that they should be aiming their sites at a higher level of player though it has to be said central defence isn't quite the number one priority to say the least.

You maybe right Sam but he is still a young man. He was great today and perhaps with proper coaching he could develop into a player for us. Time will tell. But to him today and young Stevenson. Well done.

I agree Ian I thought Hoggy was excellent to-day and thoroughly deserved his mom award.Let's hope he can keep playing like this until the end of the season.

Re: 'Wee Hoggy' (Merged Threads)

Fair play to Hogg he has taken some stick from Hibs fans, but has come back and was excellent today

mind you it's a bizarre game when the huns best goal threat is the Hibs goalie

I disagree with that. jones dosen't look comfy on the ball just now because he dosen't have the security of a good keeper behind him just now.Once McNeil comes back in next week jones will be back to his best with hogg....

I'd sort of agree there. If only we could combine the best attributes of Maris and Hogg we'd have one fantastic central defender.
