Fletcher v Benji - no contest

What the fcuks happened to supposedly one of Scotland's brightest talents (Fletcher) - I am sorry but yet again he was pish - touch o a donkey and struggles to find a green jersey. On the other hand Benji transformed that game in the first 10 mins he was on - held the ball up, quick feet, couple of good efforts. I would like to see Tam S and Benji start up front.

Re: Fletcher v Benji - no contest

Fletchers behaviour at the end was disgusting. Is it normal to exchange shirts in the SPL?

As for his performance in fairness we are not getting the best out of him as he's being asked to play in unfamiliar positions..

He's still a laddie though and judging by his clamour for a Huns top a daft laddie at that..

I agree. Fletcher has done nowt all season and (IMO) pash out where he is playing at the moment. Hes a penalty box striker for me and should be played close to the main centre forward, ready to collect the second ball.

With Benjis form of late, he should have started. Fletcher could do with a little stint on the bench.

All said and done, however, he is very young and still defo one for the future

GibbytheHibby is on the way to a first team debut
Re: Fletcher v Benji - no contest

Fletcher's first touch reminds me of Keith Wright. He can control the ball further than I can kick it!

I rate Fletcher - but this season, he's been pish poor. every time the ball is played to him he either controls it 20 yards and we lose possession, or he slips it past the defender and falls on his arse (is he no allowed football boots with studs?). Occasionally he returns the ball back the way to the player who gave him it.

Let's hope that next season, he has a year like the one Garry O had after his pish season (Fat Boab - and came good under Mogga).

Re: Fletcher v Benji - no contest

off topic but me and my dad were saying today that Jason Scotland would have ripped the pish out of that creaking, ageing Hun defence. Absolute disgrace that we were not really able to put Weir in particular under more pressure - I thought Tam S was doing OK - but typical he's hooked.

It might be an ageing defence but you have to say they defended well. their goalie was also on top form.

no idea how good they really are given we hardly tested them - a few tickles near the end with over intricate passing but no real driving runs, wing play etc.

Re: Fletcher v Benji - no contest

How many of us have in the past 2 years watched games where our goalie f*cks up, and then their goalie plays decent/brilliant. And we imagine how better we could have been with their goalie. Scottish Cup semi at Hampden. Home defeat v Falkirk. Throwing away the derby lead this season. Throwing away the lead v Celtic. All examples. Makes me sick.

Collins said before Sowunmi only had 45 minutes in him.

Benji was awesome when he came on, definitely better as an impact player right now though.

would agree that Weir looks well past his best, but IMO Ehiogu is still a player.

the frustrating thing for me is that neither Aberdeen or the Huns look a good team, far from it. Both there for the taking in the League but looks like were goona have to rely on reaching SC final to make Europe.

if it was up to me,id get cover up front and punt fletch to a lower league club on a 6 month loan.
show him that he has to work a bit to be part of this club.
benji has been fantastic of late, most improved this season defo

I would agree with that, Fletch is one for the future. Benji though has come on to a game and looks like he could do some damage in games.

Interesting you thought Sowomwi did OK...i thought he was gash and Benji was marked inprovement when he came on.In the guys defence, it's only his second game and no doubt needs games under his belt...just a wee bit surprised today was the day he got some time.Benji is clearly the more match ready striker

Some people never cease to amaze me - what the hell can be seen as "disgusting" in two former team mates and probably good friends showing sportsmanship and exchanging shirts at the end of a match? Ban racists, bigots, hooligans etc but don't swap shirts? What next FFS?

We are constantly told that if us football fans feel pain at the end of a game that hasn't gone our way then they don't feel half what the players feel..

Would you have exchanged your Hibs scarf for a Hun one at the end of the 90 mins yesterday?

It was feckin hardly Dnipro V Hibs..

Why anyone would want anything connected with that filth of a 'football' club mystifies me..

You can kind of imagine why one would want ten thousand notes a week from them but a feckin top of institutionalised bigotry?

That's what amazes me.

I still think i was right about him not being good enough. How he got a start ahead of Benji i have no idea. I would play fletcher and Benji up front.

People tend to forget how young fletcher is as he has been in the team for a while but is the same age as the other young players just making their break through into the first team.

Re: Fletcher v Benji - no contest

People seem to forget how not that long ago they were lambasting Benji. A few months ago the no contest would have been in Fletcher's favour. They are both good young players. Fletcher has gone through a dip in form where as Benji is red hot atm.

I wouldn't swap anything for any Rangers related item, but I'm not Steven Fletcher. Perhaps he collects football tops? That's up to him surely? To describe his actions as disgusting is way over the top, not to mention downright childish IMHO
