Joe is on the way to a first team debut
Grant Smith

Apparently Grant Smith is on trial at Hibs, he came on in the second half of the reserve game at Medowbank yesterday and by all rights played quite well. Ive had a wee look at his stats and he seems a bit of a journey man. He has had about a dozen clubs and he's only 26, should we really be interested in a player thats just been released by Dundee United and hardly mustered a first team performance?

Greenmachine will become famous soon enough
Re: Grant Smith

If John Collins thinks he can come in and do a job for the team then that's fine by me. He is the manager after all, and perhaps thinks Smith can maybe add something to the squad. TBH in the middle of February all you are going to get are journeyman players who are out of contract. What makes a good manager is someone who can spot potential or ability in players where others can't. We certainly need to be harder as a team, and if he can be the midfield grafter we have needed for a long time now, then all the better. It would be a bonus if he could play in one or two other positions as well.

Re: Grant Smith

I know nothing of the man but im lead to believe he is a, as you said midfield grafter, maybe a stop gap for Thommo? Im shure if you offered him the chance to put himself in the shop window and win the league cup while he's here then hed jump at it. We certainly need a hard man in central midfield, this could be the one.
