Unfortunately i am now an exiled Hibby and only get up to see the cabbage a few times a year travelling from the Midlands. Myself and three others travelled to the semi at swinecastle thinking that as in years gone by just having ticket stubs from the semi would guarantee us cup final tickets. But no!!! After the ticket announcement from the club, to say i was annoyed would be an understatement. I e-mailed the club telling them that we had travelled to swinecastle which was NOT full by any means and what chance did anyone like ourselves have of getting tickets. ( I managed to delete the original e-mail sent to the club )
This is the response i got.......................

No promise or guarantee of tickets was made in conjunction with the semi final at Tynecastle.
At the start of the season the Club stated that it’s only priority group would be Season Ticket Holders and there has been no change in this position.
We have secured an initial 26k tickets from the SFL and we expect is that this figure will be increased once the uptake of debenture seats is confirmed. As it is extremely unlikely that every season ticket holder will request 2 tickets the balance of tickets going to the public sale will be greater than 3k.
Once the public sale is confirmed ticket restrictions will then be increased to 4 tickets per person with tickets available over the telephone or online for out of town supporters as well as the usual the counter sales at the Stadium.

AS a season ticket holder for over ten years i think this kind of treatment is out of order.
around 40,000 turned up against livvie.

in defence of the club, I think if they were going to do that they would have had to make it known before the semi that stubs would guarantee a final ticket. and if they had done that then it would have been a lot harder for non ST holders to get hold of a ticket for the semi. I agree with you tho, people who went to the effort of going to the semi should be guaranteed a ticket, but I'm sure you'll get tickets no problem anyway.

Ordinarily (if we were getting our customary 1,000 tickets against Celtic) it would be a concern but there should be more than enough tickets to go round this time, no?

Also, the club is in a Catch 22: if they did that and made it one ticket per ST, they'd be criticised. If they make it two tickets per ST and no priority for semi-final stubs they'll be criticised too.

Like you say Colr, there'll be plenty of tickets as long as the 'redial' button on your phone works to get through!

Rather have 25 odd thousand than 40 again. the atmosphere with all the part timers v livi was a joke. Not helped by lack of 'away' supporters either though.
BUT

assuming we're going to be back at Hampden in May and April, surely they can come up with a way that nearly everyone can see us win at least one cup

As long as you can access a phone/intrenet, I can't see getting hold of a ticket being a problem.

Between 5 ST holders, my wee group are only adding one more to our final tickets, so that is 4 tickets right away, and I am sure this will be the case for many ST holders.

If even only a quarter of ST holders don't take up the full allocation, this will leave 3 or 4 thousand on top of public sales.

Also the fact that that the ST holders will be buying for non-ST holders will also lessen the demand for public sale. (If all 12,000 ST holder buy 2 tickets, that is 12,000 non-ST holders sorted)

It took me 15 mins on the redial phone to get QOS tickets, so in my mind, if you want a ticket you will get one.

not good news for me by any means. After travelling up to see hibs (at a pretty high cost) I'd be very hacked off not to get a cup final ticket now. Fingers crossed.

Seeing how the atmosphere is somewhat subdued every week at Easter Road except versus Hertz or the OF what guarantee would having only season ticket holders and their one extra pal give to it being any better this time? The more Hibees in the world (even those that only come to finals) the better -lay off the p/t supporters.

As for 7tats I hope you do get a ticket cos even though you are now (according to some) a p/t supporter whenever I've seen you at games you make a helluva lot more noise than most season ticket holders. :YAYYY:

Because of family, basically a brother in law GOD BLESS HIM!!!!!!!! has got his hands on a couple of extra season tickets so efter all ma moanin and bleatin about the club I, We have got ourselves tickets for the final. I am a part time supporter but that is because of other commitments. I'm not the only one and i'm lucky. CHEERS RONDO. SEE you all at HAMPDEN.

You're never going to please every supporter with this situation. However, I feel that there won't be a problem getting a cup final ticket with Hibs probably ending up with an allocation of over 30000.
