Give Thomson's recent form I have no problems whatsoever if Rod Petrie and John Collins have changed their minds about holding on to him until the end of the season.

I've said it before - on current form he is not even a £1,000,000 player in my eyes, so if we're getting in excess of that I'd jump at it.

Agreed Jamesie. I had high hopes for Thomson but this hasn't really been his season, what with loss of form, loss of the captaincy . . . not to mention the struggle to make ends meet.

The fee, as yet, remains undisclosed, however it's far from certain the former club captain is on his way to Ibrox - a host of other clubs are also keen to sign the 22 year-old and his Easter Road teammate Scott Brown, although John Collins is determined to hold on to Brown until the summer.

Mr Donaldson has all bases covered with that story. If/when Thomson doesn't go to the Hun there's no way of proving he just made it up
