East Mains : Update ?

I wish the club would give the fans an update on when they expect work to begin on the East Mains Training Centre. I know there were various planning applications that they were waiting on Council approval etc, but I would have thought that these things would have been resolved by now.

Anyone got any info on this ?

I wish our club would give us something,anything,a wee snippet of info here or there!!
Fans trawl everywhere looking for some kind of gossip,all we get from the club is the usual,we must improve,young team,blah de blah!!
Now i know naming names is a nono regarding signings but i think keeping Hibbys in the dark about anything to do with us is infuriating.In fact the only time Hibs are quick to tell us something is when they are wanting our hard earned cash..Hibs announce today, tickets will go on sale......

No its not.Up the wage bill a tad so we can attract a better class of player.

East Lothian Council approved Hibs proposals in early September, they were however subject to some conditions, one being that the access into the site be upgraded to accomodate additional traffic. An objection to the scheme has been raised by a local resident which relates to the access road into the site. RP has met with the resident who lodged the objection but it appears that he remains dissatisfied with what is being proposed, this was on going in November/December. Petrie may be required to draw on his negotiating skills to sort this out

As the club has strong backing for the project from the council this is probably a minor problem but has to be dealt with to satisfy the Council, the improvement to the roads probably would need doing before the works start on the site to enable access for site traffic.

Given the club are looking to get the facilities up and running for next pre season they would need to be starting on site end of February / early March I would think, so I would anticipate the club making some kind of official comment in regard to progress in the next few weeks.

It's not just the training complex. When was the last time we heard about any overall strategy for the club regarding the ground for example? I've seen hundreds of ideas on here about what to do regarding finishing the stadium, and never seen a thing from the club. Even the training complex announcement just came out of the blue.

The communication that the fans receive from the club is still absolutely shite. No-one is asking for us to be told about every single enquiry we make about a potential signing because it could potentially harm those bids, but some overall idea of where the custodians of the club are taking us surely isn't too much to ask for?
