I Am Of The Opinion.....
...that Katie and Essbee will have signed for the huns by this time next week. Tony Mowbray's comment (or a comment attributed to him) in today's Retard that he fears they would rather sign for the OF is rather telling, is it not?
I've said it all along and I don't think I'm alone in my contention that: - Her Slim Twat AKA The Last Judas Of Scotland - Keech Jackshun AKA David Murray's Rent Boy - Wilbur McMinge AKA The Orange Parasite have been in league for the past few months to ensure that the Ron and Reg of 21st century Leith fitba' get their move to the Lodge. 'Wait and see' as Jake Burns wrote.

Re: I Am Of The Opinion.....
Do you not think that Her Slim Twat's previous working relationship with them (albeit brief) means that the pair of braindead homeboys are likely to regard a move there as more desirable than one to Dodgeball?
Do you also not think that Heather Mills is more likely to find extra dough for the prodigal Wattie, especially if it prevents them going to their major local rivals? Let's face it, the gingerwhinger has won his second successive title, the Dumbarton hardman has been recalled to ensure that record does not extend to a hat-trick. Katie and Essbee couldn't give a whore's drawers for the Hibbies, they want out and now. No one else seriously seems to be in the running so it seems inevitable to me that the siamese deserters will get their move next week, i.e. after the SSBs replay and prior to the league cup semi. Am I just a paranoid conspiracy theorist or can anyone else see logic in my argument? Also, that wee kunt McMinge seems to have gone quiet over the past few days, that worries me. He was making a lot of noise when he wasn't getting his own way, my experience of dealing with kuntz in the real world has always been they're silent when they're getting their own way but they kick up a right ruckus to try and manipulate things to their advantage. Again, what do the rest of you think?

The cynic in me Seven Tatts thinks Rodders is holding out right to the death so there's no time for JC to spend a penny of the money raised..

Re: I Am Of The Opinion.....
I can see where you're coming from Kenny but I think that Rod Petrie will balance that against the respect he has for JC and the fact that he doesn't want us to do an Ayr Utd against SJFC.
I'll buy you a pint in the Roseburn if they're still here in a fortnight!

Re: I Am Of The Opinion.....
Conspiracy theory #1 - if they play on Thursday they must be going the Huns.
Conspiracy theory #2 - if they don't play on Thursday the must be going to the Tic. I'll put my trust in JC, he says they're no going until the summer. If they do stay and continue with the current perfomances I hope JC sticks them in the reserves.

Re: I Am Of The Opinion.....
While I can see where CJRR is coming from and why certain other posters such as Kenny agree with him I also feel it necessary to reiterate my view expressed only last week that all this talk of Bonnie and Clyde moving to the Beggar's Bowl is nothing more than an Orange Herring. I know they have been quoted as expressing interest in joining the gingerwhinger but, quite frankly, we all know that everyone connected with football has a Phd in mendacity and I saw that as nothing more than mere paper talk, i.e. a naughty press release from McMinge to add spice to the situation and possibly encourage the huns to be quicker to loosen their purse-strings.
Apologies if I come across as the most paranoid man since Oliver Stone but all the pointers indicate the Lodge sometime in January 2007. I saw and listened to JC's interview after the game at Sheepsville on Wednesday and I still believe that he would rather have a tidy sum of money that would pay for the training facility and possibly some new faces than that pair of inflated ego, uninterested trouble-makers. JC knows the value of a harmonious dressing room. He also knows the damage that two big-headed misguided fools can cause, after all he was at Easter Road during 85-86 when a certain Gordon Scott Durie began to believe his own press. He'll take the money and build a team in his own image. And when we go up to lift two cups I hope that Katie and Essbee are choking on their orange Fantas.

I cant quite remember his quote from last night but something along the lines of "I'll only sign players who are better that what I've got already"...I dont see this as a money issue - their are a number of hibs player already bigger than hibs so cash wont bring in the calibre of player required, it'll have to be another Jones or killen or murphy taken from an evironment where they have little or no value. Therefore SB-KT cash is of little consequence to JC. A more significant move would be not selling and thus the size and pulling power of hibs as a club increases.

Re: I Am Of The Opinion.....
Kenny - another excellent point you have just made and one which emphasises the very crux of this issue not just for Hibernian FC but for any football club, i.e. is it better to keep talented young players with plenty of potential who are disrupting the dressing room or does it make more economic and professional sense to sell them for large sums to your major domestic competitors?
There is merit in both arguments, however, I believe that if players wish to leave and the revenue gained helps to ensure the continued existence of the club, the provision of superior training facilities, better remunerated contracts for existing key playing personnel and possibly funds to augment the squad then the latter option is the more prudent one. I also empathise with and fully understand your perspective.

I was for a period convinced that Hibs had to play hardball and not sell to the OF as it would simply continue the conveyor-belt of domestic Scottish league talent into the cesspit of hatred and stunted careers. However I've been of the opinion lately that there needs to be a fundamental cultural shift of massive magnitude in this country before young lads stop heading west. Therefore the transfer market is not the place for Hibs (and the other teams in Scotland to make a stand. KT and SB will go to the OF and so will others currently at Hibs. |

Re: I Am Of The Opinion.....
Vasco - well said. Much as we all will detest the sight of Katie and Essbee (two of the most talented individuals to come through the ranks at Easter Road since Alex Cropley) in royal blue or the imposters' green and white we have to accept the commercial reality of Scottish football, i.e. they have more money than us, more fans than us, win far more trophies than us, compete in Europe far more often than us, significantly control all the demagogic media (by that I mean little shites such as Keech Jackshun are only ensuring their continued employment by appeasing the lumpen bampotariat OF readership of the Retard), get more players frequently capped than us and lastly, and most importantly of all, virtually all young players in Scottish football want to go there.
Also, has anyone stopped to consider the arrant hypocrisy of John Collins himself trying to prevent Katie and Essbee from making a similar move to the one he made himself seventeen years ago? Don't get me wrong, I know that JC conducted himself in a far more respectful way towards Hibernian FC than either of these numbskulls has, but (as we all know) you cannot reason with stupid individuals. I'm willing to bet that the Monaco mendacious manipulator has emphasised that fact to Zippy and George. It's a very sad fact to have to reconcile ourselves with, but for us to try and prevent the inexorable traffic of our homegrown talent to Scotland's disgrace is the historical equivalent of King Canute trying to prevent the tide from coming in.
