Got told tonight by someone very close to Steven Whittaker that WBA will be offering 6 million for Brown, Thomson and Whittaker. £10,000 a week contracts. Whittaker will seemingly get 25% of his transfer as well due to a clause in his contract.

JC said no-one will be leaving though, so it might happen in the summer

I take it they've been negotiating before Hibs accept an offer then? Tapping up?

Brown and Thomson have a clause in their contract to get a percentage of any transfer fee as well.

PS £6m for the 3 of them isn't enough.

6 million isn't enough. But it would be a lot of money for us to turn down.

Might never happen though. Just posting what I got told.

Fair enough mate, I just think Petrie will hold out for as much as he can get - and I think we'll get more than £6m. If Stokes is worth £2m then so are those 3.

WBA have had their "PARACHUTE" payments for dropping out of the Premiership. They have players on £10k easily.

And TV money in the Championship is LIGHT YEARS above the SPL.
And they play 44 league matches a season, plus a lot more cup matches (if not KO though).
And sponsorship payment from Coca-Cola will be massively greater than Bank of Scotland.
And sponsorship for sponsor boards, shirt sponsors etc. will be a lot than we have at Hibs.
And they will almost certainly charge more for tickets at WBA than we do at Hibs.

But I'd not sell the 3 for less than £8M, plus a further £500k each if they are sold on to a Premiership club, plus a further £500k each if they go on to play for Scotland, plus a further £1M in total if WBA are promoted to the Premiership in the next 3 years. That's fair.

To be honest, if the above was offered I'd snatch it straight away: we can replace them reasonably well, and would have cleared debts and rebuilt East Stand in one fell swoop.
