Rumours everybody needs good rumours (Merged Rumours)

On .net, a few guys are certain that Mark Brown will join Hibs. Also a few ICT fans are saying the exact same thing.

If true (and that's a big IF), then he would be a decent signing IMO. I always thought he was a wee bit too small for a keeper, but according to Soccerbase he is 6 foot 1.

PS before anyone starts I know rumours are to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Re: Strong Rumours saying Hibs to sign Mark Brown

I would be very underwhelmed if this happened right now to be honest as he would cost us a few bob right now despite the fact we could sign him on a pre contract agreement unless i am mistaken and he is not out of contract this summer and continue with young Mcneil in goals until such time when both Malkowski and Brown will be off the books.

Re: Strong Rumours saying Hibs to sign Mark Brown

Exactly.

I think Hibs may try to sign him on a pre-contract agreement, and try to get an experienced keeper in on loan till the end of the season. Andy McNeill will continue in goals meantime.

Mark Brown is a superb keeper IMO, and would be a great acquisition for Hibs.

Our best chance of a trophy this season is only two games away, if JC signs a keeper then he must be part of that. Asking young Andy McNeill to come in for a semi then final, then drop him for league games, is'nt the best preparation for these games no matter how highly, or lowly, you rate the opposition. Although I'm pretty sure Andy would bite yer hand off for the chance to win a medal wae Hibs. Either give him the gloves from now to the end of the season, with Brown (Mark or Simon) as back-up or sign a keeper who will be able to play in all games.

Hat-trick today for the now Falkirk main man. Hopefully an immediate transfer or pre-contract agreement can be struck.

If there is no movement of Brown and Thomson this window then a bosman agreement for the end of the season would be my preference.

Think McNeil will be up to the task but if Brown comes in now it would give us a bit more experince rather than McNeil who made his first start. Although McNeil will surely settle quicker than Brown.

I think Hibs are due the laddie McNeil a run in the side with him having waited patiently all season for his chance. Worst case scenario he will do no worse than Zibi where as best case he does well and we have a keeper who might negate the need to sign another goalie or can at least challenge if the feeling is still another experienced keeper is required.

Wpuld be a great replacement for Brown. The guy has been sticking out recently and evidently two of his goals today were sublime.

Re: Alan Gow

And with Falkirk beating rejuvinated Utd 5-1 without their on loan star who has headed back to Arsenal it might be looking like Yogi might be a pretty good manager after all

Re: Alan Gow

Hope Gow stays at Falkirk and that Stokes goes back there for the second half of the season. Big Yogi's team have been a breath of fresh air in the SPL this season. They dont deserve to be decimated/preyed on at the half way stage by all the vultures.

And well done to the big man

for getting his team playing attractive attacking football this season - on a shoestring budget - and for bringing a smile to everyone's faces (except when we play them..... )

Re: Alan Gow

Agree with the lads on someone else outbidding us in fee or wages for Gow.

I totally agree with Rods stance on Thommo and Brown but if our crowds are up and we are financially stable maybe it would be good to have a review of the wage structure to make sure it reflects what standard we want to achieve and enable us to attract a player of Gows quality? Its crap ti think that someone can make themselves more attractive to this type of player.

Hibernian are a pioneering club of unique firsts in the Scottish and British game and we all know we dont want to be left behind. Thoughts??

Our latest first in the Scottish game involves us living within our means and bringing through the youngsters into the first team. Wouldn't want a review of the wage structure to jeopardise this.

Gows a great player but his performance today will work against Hibs. If Wolves were only concidering a move for him befor today then they are certain to make an offer for him now, and we cant beat Wolves in a bidding war.

Andy McNeil on a basic wage of £220 a week. And that is a first team contract, not a under 19/21/reserve wage. And I can assure you that we are about to lose one of our best young U19 prospects to Celtic for feck all.

Graig Cordon!

ALL TOGETHER NOW:

You and I in a little toy shop
buy a bag of jambos with the money we've got
Set them free at the break of dawn
'Til one by one, they were gone
Back at base, bugs in the software
Flash the message, "Something's out there"
Floating in the summer sky
99 maroon jambos go by.

99 maroon jambos floating in the summer sky
Panic bells, it's maroon alert
There's something here from somewhere else
The war machine, it springs to life
Opens up one eager eye
Focusing it on the sky
As 99 maroon jambos go by.

99 Decision Street, 99 ministers meet
To worry, worry, super-scurry
Call out the troops now in a hurry
This is what we've waited for
This is it boys, this is war
The president is on the line
As 99 maroon jambos go by.

99 Kriegsminister
Streichholz und Benzinkanister
Hielten sich für schlaue Leute
Witterten schon fette Beute
Riefen: Krieg und wollten Macht
Mann, wer haette das gedacht
Dass es einmal soweit kommt
Wegen 99 Luftballons

99 dreams I have had
In every one a maroon Jambo
It's all over and I'm standin' pretty
In the dust that was a city
If I could find a souvenir
Just to prove the world was here...
And here it is, a maroon jambo
I think of you and let it go.:YAYYY:
