Collins - Your time is now

In my opinion Saturday will be make or break time for his entire managerial career.

He has one decision to make which is an absolute no brainer. If he doesn't make it he will never go on to be a top flight gaffer.

Defeats, we can accept them. I think the reaction of the fans to the 9 outfield players who ran their guts out said it all. Fair enough some were better than others, but the circus act (again) and Deano, hopefully a one off display of petulance, cost us mega.

The Yams are gash, play no football, but always always manage to get more from derby games than they deserve.

i think that's unfair. i think we have to accept that until the january transfer window he will not properly have the opportunity to address this particular problem in the way he sees fit.

Playing the Devil's Advocate here, but what if John Collins decided to put McNeil in against Dunfermline and his lack of experience/being thrown in at the deep end cost us a goal or two which ended up costing us the game against a side we should easily beat at home and also will need to beat?

Three very valuable points rest on the next game and John Collins can't afford to make any rash decisions. I'd be alright with him waiting until January and bringing in what he sees as a suitable replacement.
But if thats the case why is he there ????

so because he's only 19, he shouldnt play incase he cosk up. he cant be any worse than what we already have in the team. he should be playing over coco. if he causes a goal, i dont think people will react badly. gordon was young when he went into the hearts team.

scott brown and kev thomson were young when they were handed their debuts, as were whittaker, Mcluskey etc. they handled it.

The diddy we play now cost us points and games left, right and centre and he doesn't have the age or lack of experience excuse on his side, he is just shite. Tough decisions are there to be made and the manager is there to make them, what if he sticks with the diddy and he costs us the points again??

Re: Collins - Your time is now

Zibi has cost us too often. He should not play. End of story. Of course JC has to make the right call for the long-term by finding a keeper in the window and I am sure he will. In the meantime McNeill shold be given a chance to claim the jersey. He certainly looked quite impressive in the warm up today.

Re: Collins - Your time is now

Zibi has had more chances than most keepers to redeem himself, but he has blown them all. IMO it's time for JC to show his bottle and stick the young lad in the team for the Pars game. I would have no hesitation in his position. No one in the side should be allowed the luxury of feeling that their place is guaranteed, particularly someone who costs the team goals and points on a regular basis.

Was Gordon not dropped in the deepend at 18 or 19 yrs old?

He did alright, seems to have kept his place n aw.

In my opinion, the difference between Hibs & Hertz over the past few seasons, particularly in Derbys, has been the goalkeepers. How many times have we been on target against them only for that lanky feckwit Gordon to pull off yet another wonder save? And conversely, how many times has the ball ended up in the back of our net from nothing more than yet another long baw punt?

I will be very surprised if Zibbi plays for Hibs again. John Collins does not strike me as the type of individual who suffers fools easily and that is what Zibbi is, a fool. The laddie will get a chance and a more experienced keeper will be signed in January. Zibbi's next position will be as a checkout girl at Scotmid on Duke Street.

Scott, I really hope you're right!

But we've thought that exact same thought before and he's lived to cock up another day!

I've wasted too many words on Zibi in the past, I was one of a few on the Irish tour last season who thought Zibi was the answer! How wrong you can be!

He's ruined too many days for me now! I'm not angry, just really disappointed! I found it all quite amusing when the Yams adopted him as their new idol! let's face it we know he's rank rotten, so do they and so does every player in the SPL! I would suggest that we have more long range shots and freekicks fired in against us than any other SPL team!

Can we get another Keeper in who is strong, commanding and willing to play within our wage structure!

the fact that the competition is non existant will make the selection a bit easier though!

From my vantage point I couldn't see the Shiels incident but although his red card was a contributory factor in our defeat it was the missed chances and the poor defending and goalkeeping that cost us the game, it could've bee wrapped up before he left the park!

Re: Collins - Your time is now

Davie - I watched it on Setanta with my Dad and brother (and my 2 year old niece who thought we were upset and told my sister-in-law that I was crying, I wasn't but I phuckin' felt like it!) and at half-time we discussed the performance thus far and Grant said that Zibi had done alright, to which I pointed out that the second half was still to be played! Famous last words!

After he let that goal in I just said 'phuck this pish' and went for a shower, the cheering told me it was 2-1 and when I was getting changed I was summoned for the penalty and the Xmas tree nearly went flying as the three of us had a mad bounce in the front room!

How that effort by Whitty stayed out I just don't know but I tell you what; for the half hour that we were a man short we totally dominated. You wouldn't have known Hibs were the team with the ten men.

Disappointing result, disappointing performances from both Zibi and Martis, other than that the future looks good for John Collins's Hibs. And I thought JC was magnificent when he was interviewed, he described the second half performance as 'sensational' and pointed out we deserved to win. He is a great ambassador for Hibernian FC.

Other than that I got pissed and had to walk away from a fight as my folks and my niece were in the corner in the pub. But next time I see that kunt he's phuckin' gettin' it. Trying to cause bother with someone when their 63 year old Dad and 2 year old niece are a few feet away is the mark of a low life wanker.

Seriously, all joking aside - does anyone know of a worse goalkeeper than Zibi in Britain right now? I for one don't & this just isn't good enough for a club like Hibernian FC.

I never buy eggs, can't phucking stand them. Used to sit opposite a woman who ate egg sandwiches, honestly it smelt like a dog had shat a Mr Whippy between the slices of bread.

But back to Zibbi, he could maybe join fellow useless Hibs cult craptitude legend and become a bus driver. Apparently the starting salary is twenty grand and you get a free maroon tanktop, which he deserves for his services to Heart of Midlothian Football Club.
He's done the most damage to us in derbies since John Robertson. We'd be better off with my sister's cat Daisy in goal.
