O.K it was ibrox against the huns , but a result like that was on the cards . After last weeks poor[ish] performance ,the last place we needed to be was ibrox.[or celtic park]
In reality its something that needed to happen as everyone [me included] was getting a bit carried away.
We were in danger of losing perspective.
JC has been in the job about 6 weeks with a bunch of players he inherited. Regardless of how good they appear to us the support , they are not HIS players.
Most of these guys will be around for a while,but come January i expect to see quite a few new faces at ER.

I agree to a certain extent Kenny. We need an animal for midfield. We have the ball players ,but when the going gets tough they get lost.
I think JC will probably be taking in about 4-5 players. Today will have reinforced this.

I couldn't listen beyond the first half. It was like listening to Rangers vs Hibs from the mid 90's when they pumped us 7-0. Hibs were never in the game at any stage, poorest performance of the season by a mile. The losses against Falkirk, St Mirren, Celtic and Kilmarnock were close affairs, this was just pathetic. I fear for us against Falkirk unless Collins makes changes; I'd drop Brown and Thomson if there attitude isnt good on the training pitch, and any more headlines from Keith Jackson via McCock should result in them being put in the stand.

It will have been discussed with Rodders before JC took the job. Collins had watched Hibs a few times & will have had a good idea from Day one the players he would like to keep & the ones that will be shunted.
IMO it started yesterday with Jay Shields going to Dundee. I can't see him coming back to sign a new contract in the summer. There may one or two more going that will raise a few eyebrows.

Just in from the Hunnery, we were pish poor fist half although we improved second, especially with the introduction of Stewart and Benji. Thomson and Brown both did little, nor did Boozy. The defence was awful at all three goals, although at least one was offside and one was never a foul. The new ploy of Zibi rolling the ball to Martis at every oppurtuninty disane work, Martis is not comfy on the ball and gives it away easy.

Playing Ivan on the left simply does not work.

My Hibs man of the match was Steven Fletcher for his tireless workrate today.

Worst performance was the Glasgow police and Ibrox Steward who arrested one guy who complained the steward was in the way as all around us 40000 Hun Scumbags rattled out a rendition of both the sash and derrys walls.

One Scotland my arse. These people are filth, their fans and the police and stewards.

Not too disheartened about todays result tbh. I went there with a bit more confidence than usual but in hindsight that was maybe the worst thing to be as Hibs were too loose from the off. Is it not said you learn more from your side when they suffer a bad result? If so then John Collins will have learned more today than he has so far in his reign as boss. Sadly though the effect of the media talk about Brown and Thomson seems to be getting to them and i hope this will be resolved soon one way or another as it is an unwelcome distraction.

In my opinion Hibs are unbalanced in the middle of the park.

We have too many ball-players, and no ball-winner. We are simply not hard enough in an area of the park where you have to mix it before you can start playing the pretty stuff. We are overloaded with the same kind of player, and John Collins has to address this in January and definately at the end of the season. You can get away with steam-rollering teams like Motherwell and Dunfermline with open atrractive football, but when teams are up for a battle and want to stop you playing you have to be able to match them physically. Hibs have not had the players to do this for a number of year now.

I wasn't at todays game, but it was noticable from the radio commentary how better we sounded when Stewart came on for Boozy. No surprise there, because Stewart is the only player we have who can play the holding role reasonably well, can put himself about when he has to, and offers some degree of protection to the back four. In the first half we had Thomson, Brown, Sproule, Boozy, and Fletcher every one of whom is better when they have the ball at their feet than they are when they have to defend. This is suicide when playing a strong side on their own patch.

I agree with Greencol. Collins needs to be ruthless in January if we are going to make this season the success we all want it to be. I think he will empty some players who we may not expect. He has to stamp his authority on the team, andI think he will next month.
