Re: Gary Caldwell..

His memory's obviously not what it was - somewhat prone to exaggeration?

His "every touch" was not booed by the Hibs fans in that game against Aberdeen. A small minority booed but they were soon silenced. I felt the fans gave him as good support as he could have expected for the remainder of his stay. Or is it my memory that's playing up? Where am I anyway?

I also love the fact that he blames the boos for him making a mistake which led to Aberdeens goal straight after it was revealed he was going to Celtic.

If you cast your mind back a bit, it was his first touch of the game, and there was no booing before it, so I suppose he was guessing he was going to get booed and that caused him to make an error! And if it was boos that caused Caldwell to make mistakes for Hibs, how come I never heard any for the other 6 million he made?

Re: Gary Caldwell..

So somehow, 20 mins of the first game after he had signed a pre-contract agreement for a rival club the minority of fan's boo him (not forgetting a howler to gift the sheep a goal) but are then eventually drowned out by a majority, somehow that turns into 6 months.
Every opportunity he get's to bring it up and exaggerate it to the press just pisses me off. If it wasn't for Hibs he would never had made it to Celtic, don't forget that now Caldwell or the fact that for every other minute after those 20mins you got the fans full backing whilst in the green n' white of Hibernian.

Hibernian F.C - Edinburgh's FOOTBALL team
Heart of Midlothian F.C - Edinburgh's HOOFBALL team
I've never seen such a one sided game in all my life.

One team trying to play football, the other team constantly lumping the ball up the park, to no avail.

Pathetic. Sickening. Embarassing.

Re: Gary Caldwell..

The Evening News reached a new low today with some of it's sports coverage including a sick inducing interview with a Celtic player. Quite what this has to do with Hibernian Football Club in November 2006 is beyond me. Caldwell chose to sign for Celtic in January this year, yet still still expected the Hibs fans to back him. I said at the time Mowbray should have had the balls to drop him from the team as I would do to any player who signs a pre-contract with another team. Caldwell was vastly overrated as a defender, and the fact that he kept the captaincy till the end of the season showed a glaring weakness in Tony Mowbray's management IMO.

The EEN have basically just copied and pasted the tabloids interview with Caldwell this morning.

Another thing in the news which sickened me, (and I realise this is NHC), was some wee tube of a reporter doing a story on Valdas Ivanaskaus going ballistic at a referee at a Hearts reserve game at Falkirk. The reporter basically praised him to the hilt for his ridiculous outburst and abuse thrown at the referee which even had Yogi Hughes surprised. Apparently this behaviour showed that good old Valdas "cares" about the club and the old "passion" is still there. The guys a lunatic like his boss man. His behaviour at the Vetra Inter Toto game at ER a couple of seasons ago was enough to show anyone just how unstable he was.

The EEN should be ashamed of themselves for running two such stories, one stoking up the flames of the current contracts situation, and the other praising a manager shouting abuse at a referee.

Caldwell is a fanny!!

I remember that Aberdeen game as I was one of the boo boys!! But what bothered me was the fact that for every boo boy there were 10 people clapping him to drown out the boos!! Why the f*** did folk clap a player who had just signed for Celtic???

Would I boo Caldwell now?? Don't see the point as I was glad to get rid of him as he is shit! I just despised the fact that the Hibs CAPTAIN had signed for Celtic!!! Mowbray was a f***** arse for letting him continue playing - let alone be captain!!!

I actually quite like Caldwell. He was nothing but honest while at Hibs. Compare his transfer to Celtic to that wee lying queen Derek 'Will I, won't I' Riorden or the fuss generated by Kevin 'Its a disgrace my mummy has to work for a living' Thomson.
