Lets face it, that :wa**ker: Mackay is getting exactly what he wants. He's trying to unsettle our players and if we start to get on their backs he will have succeeded. Lets judge them at what they do best, playing great football, and ignore the business side of it.

Agreed, they knew fine exactly what they were doing.

MacKays whole business model is built on the fact that there are plenty footballers out there who have no respect for contracts and are primarily motivated by cash.

2 scenarios :-

1. Thomson & Brown are cute smart and knew exactly what Parasite McKay's MO would be.

or

2. Thomson & Brown are not media savvy at all and did not realise that McKay has no scruples whatsoever and the possible storm / backlash that their antics would create at ER.


I'll go with the former.

Grown men such as Brown and Thompson deliberatley moved to an agent notorious for unsettling players, extracting the absolute maximum from clubs in ruthless and cynical manner and we should back them.

I know you mean 'back them on the pitch' and you are 100% right but open your eyes the reason they moved agents is because very soon they want to leave Hibs some time in the near future as they know perfectly well that players of their ability can command far more in the way of financial recompense than Hibs can possibly pay.

Personally, I'd strip Thomson of the captaincy immediately and pass it to Rob Jones.

Tomorrow the whole team gets the cheer it deserves. Guys, lets be straight, these two will leave and we know it, so let us control it. Best case scenario is they leave in the summer for several million but to the premiership then they go with our gratitude and blessing. Turn on them and talk about removing captainsy and we will get what we deserve.

We can call them all we want but all that achieves is the pr1ck makay wins and lines his pockets. He'll sleep at night.

I'm not suggesting that we don't support whoever is out on the park.
BUT, the club captain should be someone who leads by example.
Personally, I've thought that Jones has been more of a captain than Thomson for some weeks now. It's him who pulls other players (including Kev) away from potential confrontations. It's him who can frequently be seen urging the others to raise their game. That to me is what a captain should be.

This McKay felly is the agent of Joey Barton and Chimbonda from Spurs.

He touted Barton about until Man City gave him the contract he wanted, and after 1 season of playing for Wigan he got Chimbonda a £7 million move to Spurs.

The guy obviously just stirs the sh!t until he gets what he wants.

Couldn't agree more with Jonesy as captain but the timing would be wrong. We all know Jones is the leader on the park and I think even the players know it. I'll be amazed if he's not captain next season no matter what. Whats more important is those 3 points tomorrow. We could be above the jambos on monday and time to sack another manager before he starts.

Arent most people in the working world like that though?

There two of the biggest talents in the country and i mean the UK not just scotland why shouldnt they want more money quite frankly?

And don't forget thet signed recently to ensure Hibs are in a strong position to bargain rather than be left in a Riordan situation

I for one refuse to believe this nonsense that Hibs are only paying these guys a grand a week. I mean for god sakes, that comes up to about 50 grand a year, which is roughly the salary of some school teachers, are we honestly suggesting that you could earn more as a school teacher than by being a professonal footballer???? Ive no problem with them looking for more money, I was reacting to the hysterical comments on here about the agent. Its as if Kev and Scott are idiots who have been forced by the evil agent to take this course of action.

They made the decision knowing fine well what the implications are. I dont have a problem with that, I hope Hibs are able to offer them what they want but lets not put our heads in the sand and beleive that they are only doing this cos an agent told them to. They want as much money as they can make and they will be offski if they can earn more elsewhere - if they do so it will be their decision not an agents.
