What positions do you think JC will be looking to strengthen in jan?

As we all appeared to be saying in the summer?

An experienced goalkeeper and poacher?

Great performance by Zibi on Saturday and lets hope he gets it together and establishes himself, but i think it's a poor situation to be in when we are not able to drop our keeper as we only have a kid as back up?

Also feel we need a poacher type up front but i really do think ther's mich more to come from Fletcher (Great finish on Saturday) and Benji (looked sharp on Saturday)

Where else?

I think he'll look to add 'his' players to all areas of the field in the coming transfer windows

I don't think he will want to break up a good side!

I think as history has proven over the years the good side will inevitably be broken up by others!

Imo for what it's worth, being a realist is part of being a Manager and Collins has already stated that he has players in mind to bring to the Club if possible. That's the least I would expect of a man with ambition who wants to improve a good side into a good side that could challenge and win things!

My worry is not what position JC will strengthen, but what position(s) will be weakend by us losing players to others. With Brown and Thomson the obvious targets for other clubs, will Petrie stick by his word and only sell them if JC agrees. If Tony Mobrey is given money to spend, he will certainly come looking.

Re: What positions do you think JC will be looking to strengthen in jan?

Has to be GK obviously. Even if Zibi played every game like he did against Caley, weve still only got McNeil and Brown as back up and Browns just as accident prone as Zibi.

So get Simon Brown and Zibi out, get a new quality keeper. I think Deano might leave as well so we might need a new forward. But thats the only positions i can hink of seeins a dinny hink any other major players will leave in January.

we need a striker definitely someone in the van nistelrooy mould who will score from inside the box week in week uot. where as fletch only scores crackers; Ivan rarely scores; benji hasnt shown his full potential yet and we need someone as foil for killen. i wonder if jc came out and said what position he was planning on strengthening whether the player in that position would improve their game?

Do you even watch Hibs

I think we need to ship out Si Brown and Konde. Bring in a decent centre half and maybe a left back and a goalie. Apart from the quality of the defensive backup I'm happy with the squad.

Striker and Goalkeeper

Dont need midfield and dont need defenders.

Re: What positions do you think JC will be looking to strengthen in jan?

I think he will almost certainly be looking to strengthen our striking options, and if he wants to continue to use the 4-5-1 system I would imagine it will be another target man to cover for Chris Killen that he will be wanting. This should have been done by Mowbray of course, but hopefully JC will have the situation in hand. In addition, I think he will possible try to bring in a defensive midfield ball-winner in. Something I think we need, and may be crucial to us having a successful season.

I don't think he will sign a goalkeeper until the summer, as we already have five goalkeepers on our books. Zibby and Brown will probably go in the summer as their contracts will be up then.

What is absolutely vital is that we hold on to Scott Brown and Kevin Thomson until the summer at least. We have a very good chance of getting some silverware at the club, and nothing should be done to jeapordise that chance.

Re: What positions do you think JC will be looking to strengthen in jan?

im still not too sure we have a decent striker, Stephen Fletcher can't play the role as a striker, he is better as a midfeilder. And Benji - isnt consistant. Killen - injury prone.

Re: What positions do you think JC will be looking to strengthen in jan?

IMO Hibs badly need a centre back to cover for Jones or Martis. Konde has yet to convince me he's quite good enough and Hogg seems more like one for the future. A new keeper is a must too, a couple of good games doesn't make Zibi a particularly good goalie (all credit to him though, he does seem much better now than before). We all know what he's 'capable' of.

We need to
- get rid of Simon Brown and 1 out of Malkowski/Ally Brown/McNeil; sign a new keeper
- sign a right-footed midfielder
- sign a centre-forward

I doubt either of the goalkeeping Browns will be at the club at the start of next season. So another first team keeper is a must, leave McNeil to learn the ropes with the reserves for another season or so.

I think in Jan however we need to sign a defensive midfielder and another striker ala Killen, should Mikey and Chris decide not to sign new contracts then the best time to get a replacement is in the Jan transfer window.

If we can afford it, and here I agree with GM, we need cover in the centre of defence and possibly full back cover, certainly at LB anyway.

left back? Murph has been one of the best signings at the club for a long time and one of TMs best buys.....if not THE best?
