Exactly ,the RSS system has now been removed from the hibeesbounce,hibernian fc don't want you to be able to read this story from a link from hibeesbounce.com.

We think this is childish, pathetic and self defeating and bad PR stopping hundreds of fans reading official news

Not a techy, and anyone who knows me will realise I'm not even pc correct, but is it the case that Crowther has deliberately blocked a link from the Bounce to Hibs news, but allowing it from other 'independent' fansites?

If so, that seems a bit off.

Perhaps someone from the Club in a more senior position could confirm that this is the official position that Hibs are taking with the Bounce and simply some pettiness from an arse.

To clear up any confusion -

What happened was we started feeding stories from the official site. The official RSS feed published by the official site was automatically posted by the robot user Hibs_Official on to the main forum. This worked fine for a while and people were updated straight away and redirected to the official site (free traffic for it, courtesy of the Bounce). For some reason, the RSS feed has now been changed and the links now go to HI login pages etc. This presumably happens to everyone not just the Bounce. It just so happens that the Bounce was the only site using the system.

Any home users using an RSS feed aggregator will now have the same problem. I encourage anyone who found the RSS service (including the Bounce use of it) useful for keeping up to date with the latest official news to complain to Hibs about the change in service.

This is a new "addition to the service" according to HI. The timing of its introduction has nothing to do with the Bounce starting to use the feed, apparently.

there are 2 news feeds for hibs as far as i'm aware

both will give you a short preview of a story,if your subscribed to HI it would allow you to login automatically,if your no you get the login page..

I personally think paying to read news from the club on top of season tickets / merchandise etc is a bit much .
Paying for highlights is fair enough as it obviously costs money to produce but i refuse to pay to read things that no doubt will be available elsewhere online or in print

well aye mate.. a RSS newsfeed is there to encourage reading news not the other way about,you can still read the news if you can be arsed going to www.hibernianfc.co.uk everyday, if you have the feed on yer PC or that you'll only goto the login pages

It costs to get that "little bit extra"

if you goto http://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/ and look at the news then goto one of the rss feeds you'll see that subscribers get that wee bit more,its like an early bird system again
