Former Hibby walks out

Canny blame him Brian Welsh FFS !!!

Smith walks away

FORMER Hibs and Aberdeen defender Gary Smith has walked out on Cowdenbeath after he was overlooked for the manager's job at the Fife club.

Cowdenbeath chairman Gordon McDougall said: "Gary wants to leave and we are sympathetic to his position."

Youth coach Brian Welsh was appointed manager over Smith.

Re: Former Hibby walks out

Brian Welsh set up the Cowdenbeath 'academy' to let his own son play initiative football three years ago. His team was made up of players from about three teams and in setting this up he completely fecked these three football clubs. The chairman of cowdenbeath is Brian's father in law...

Re: Former Hibby walks out

Seem to recall he has a laddie that would be playing U11s this season and used to be at Tynecastle BC?

Just mind seeing him on the other touchline watching his boy when my own son's side beat them 3-0 at Campbell Park the season before last.

Maybe Gary could come back and pass on his experience to some of the younh defenders at Easter Road, I said when he left it would have been good to see him stay on at Easter Road in some capacity and a coach would be a good decision by either John Collins or Rod Petrie.

Could always help out when injuries and suspension kick in, and could probably still do a better job a left back that Stephen Glass.

Good shout.

By all accounts Gary is on the same wavelength as JC with regard to 'total commitment' and it may be a distinct possibility that he returns.
I'm sure he has a lot to offer the younger players.

I mean experience and stuff.
