an overlook

having watched and listend to tony mowbray,i strongly beleive he will make it to the very top,his philosiphy on football is spot on,not only on games but in tactics, training and the new academey,i see exactly where hes coming from.when he signed michael stewart,i wasnt too sure but i thought mowbray knows what he is doin, and although hes only flourishing now,i seen it in his game last year what a great player he could be for hibs, also his shrewed siginings and being patient with players eg zemamma...he wont be presurised into signing players just because the fans want frswh faces,he genuinely cares about our/his club and wants the best for it now and in the future when he wont be there.have faith in this guy,hes a good manager and goin to be even better with experience.does any1 disagree?

Re: an overlook

A criticism I had of Mowbray last year was that tactically when forced to do something different he couldnt. Today he got his tactics spot on and the choice of players spot on. I know there wouldnt be many that would have picked Ivan over Deano but Mogga did and it paid off.

Fully agree.

He gets slated for his honesty in interviews, but I think he's ambitious enough to realise that Hibs are taking him places and he's not going to be influenced (hopefully) by the lure of the old firm once he starts doing well (ala McLeish). I am also fully aware that Hibs are not going to win the league at any point in the near future, and so TM saying this in an interview does not make me upset or angry at his "lack of commitment" - he's being realistic and is basically not tying a rope around his neck the way some managers do (or chairmen who claim they will win the Champions League do

) when saying they will win things/beat teams etc.

The guys definitely set for the higher levels of football management when he leaves Hibs, and he seems keen to ensure that there is a production of talent at Hibs long after he goes (hence his insistence on a training academy, instead of asking to spend the GO'C money on players etc).

The new contract is a bit of a worry, though I think it guarantees that Hibs are due compensation if he does leave (as his contract is always 1year

) so that's fair enough - shows a bit of class in the man that he's not wanting to leave Hibs with nowt when he goes, and he clearly appreciates RP and STF for giving him his shot in football management. Hopefully he'll stick around for a couple of years though and get the best out of the training complex he's fought to get.
