Zibi

They guy played well yesterday. A couple of good saves from the man but a couple of dodgy kick outs too!!

I do feel however that he cant communicate with the back 4. If he brought this to his game I think he could be a no bad keeper.

I feel abuse coming on for saying that!!!

Re: Zibi

Agreed!

on one occasion yesterday jones had to tell him to come out to collect the ball, zibi just looked at him but eventually came out.

his shot stopping can sometimes be world class, and he seems a lot more comfortable with crosses and in my opinion does look like he has improved under marshall's coaching.

but he is still a liability, if he stopped fecking about with it at the back, and buit up better communication with jones and martis then i reckon he could be a half decent keeper

Although i do still hope mogga gives young mcneil a chance soon!!

zibi is a pretty good shot stopper but looks dodgey in the air. Seems at the moment though that hes the best weve got.

wasn't just the once that Jones called him out. I think Jones has been given the job of controling all 5 at the back. He deciders who stays back & who goes up for corners, tells Zibi when to come etc. Doing it well fwiw

Well done to the guy! But just because he has one good game, doesn't mean that hes the best keeper we've ever had and got....yes he kept us in the game, and good for him, but i still feel on the big occasion like the game against the Huns then hes not going to cut it.

The best I seen Zibi play was not the last time we were at Celtic Park but the time before.

That was a big game??

Althiough I probably should have I still haven't and can't forgive him for the Semi-Final last year.

Good to see he made a few good saves but he is still our weak link IMO.

My thoughts exactly.

It would make me really happy for him to prove me wrong (for the sake of the team) cos TM obviously rates him, but i too would like to see young McNeill given a run as i think he is a great prospect.

I think we should take Mandy with a pinch of Salt most of the time!

I agree with you to a ceratin extent Billy, but if anyone in employment repeatedly makes the same mistakes I think there may be a problem!

After seeing Brown last night i'm now certain that we're struggling for a GK, he was dreadful, Celtic's second goal was lined up by the guy for a good 2-3 seconds then hit from distance, it should've been pushed round the post easily! that on top of that shambles at PBS when Millers header slipped about 2 ft inside the post! I'll never get over that!, I'm actually surprised that a couple of people in the Stand were actually sticking up for him last night, The comment went 'it's not Simon's fault, there' 11 players out there!' the crackin' response was 'He's the only one with the gloves on!'

Hopefully Zibi is coming on to a game but he's so up and down he's had some great games and some real stinkers!

Only saw the highlights (3 times) of the game against Dumpdee Utd but Zibi looked pretty good so maybe his confidence is on the up. He still seems to be getting it from some quarters. OK he aint perfect but if he is making fewer and fewer errors then lets give the guy a chance (another one). SB is clearly p1sh, why was McNeil not playing any idea.

Not sure about McNeill!

I agree we have to stick with Zibi now! we only have 2 viable options him and Mcneill, one Brown is injured and shite and the other is just shite!

Agreed. McNeill looks okay, but there's no getting away from the fact that he is very short for a keeper.

Think alot of people forget that Zibi was in goals at Ibrox when we won 3nil and was absolutely immense that day.

He's like any keeper in that he will have some good performances and some bad performances - to be honest he is very inconsistent and his howlers are more memorable than his brilliant performances, but he's actually played really well for us in some of our bigger games, apart from the semi of course.

I also think he's playing alot better this season than he has previously, and think that the partnership of Martis and Jones could be the cause of this - he's clearly getting more confidence from the two of them playing well, so he;s not as bad. Played pretty well at Darkhead the other week apart from a shot he spilled in the first half but definitely couldn't be blamed for either of their goals.

I also find it laughable that Andrew McNeil is lauded as the next big thing - he clearly has talent (performances for Scotland U19's) and I would obviously like to see him get a game, but the suggestions (not so much in this thread, but ever since he signed for us) that he should be our number one straight off are a joke. Will be interesting to see the comments about him when he gets in the team and gets beaten at his near post by a Hartley free kick or lets a header drift into the corner of the net.....
