Hibs were a class apart throughout the match as United struggled in virtually every area of the pitch. Chances were sparce in the first half, although Hibs midfielder Scott Brown went close with a long-range effort in what was another energetic display from the youngster.

Seven minutes into the second half however and Kiwi striker Chris Killen put the Edinburgh side in front with a fine finish.

Dean Shiels continued his fine start to the season with his third goal of the season ten minutes from time before Ivan Sproule came off the bench to seal the win in stoppage time.

The win pushes Hibs into the top half of the table while United are still looking for their first home win of the season.
I think it's a bit deluded.

Hibs weren't a class apart, even in the first half where we were marginally the better team despite not having even one shot on target. The rest is all factual.

Re: Yes, I Like the cut of this young reporter's Jib:

I was only getting slightly carried away with the first paragraph,to be honest.

The first half, even sitting in the beer garden in the sun of the Tor,was pretty damn grim.

But,by god,i love it when people highlight that Hibernian F.C are so gorgeous, when it comes to footballing skills!

But 4 -5 pints of Lager followed by 3 pints of Guinness and 3 or 4 Hamlets made the 2nd half quite smashing!!

Lets all do a wee cracking pogo...na na na,na na na na!

Re: Yes, I Like the cut of this young reporter's Jib:

imo, hibs were in 2nd gear throughout the 1st half and utd were running at full steam. it was clearly evident that when hibs kicked up a gear, utd would suffer. and so it was. to be fair tho' i thought the ref was unfair to utd a couple of times. he denied them a stone wall penalty at 0-0. i don't think they'd have won even if they had scored though.

Was speaking to a Killie fan about their 3-2 defeat to Dunfermline at the w/e.
He said Killie were ahead twice and then did that swanking about thing and lost it to gritty stuff

Hibs do that too
From what I saw on Setanta they weren that superior and should keep feet on ground

But thank f**k that away bogey's been lifted

Werent that superior??????Hughie surely you jest. In the second half hibs tore dumpdee UTD to shreds, they simply didnt have an answer to hibs free flowing footie - and even when they did get chances Zibbi the Hibbi was there (ok maybe I am going a bit OTT at that bit but he played well).

Re: Yes, I Like the cut of this young reporter's Jib:

Well Dub you watched the highlights on Monday no?

And you were slaughtered??

I think highlights can sometimes give a mistaken impression

I just got the impression watching it all on Setanta on Sun that

1. We could have gone one down when Jonesy's "tackle" went unoticed.

2. Samuel had 2 good chances.

3. Brewster had a good chance to equalize.

It might all have been a bit different on another day
