There's usually one past Parkhead on the right on the grass where you don't have to pay (apart from the '£1 to watch yer car mister' brigade) ... there are others nearer that cost, but it can take you ages to get out again after the game ....

Re: Parking at parkhead

I suggest you try and park somewhere in London Rd. If you can get there by around 1.30pm you should be okay.
If you are going back to the Edinburgh area after the game this the quickest way home.

Re: Parking at parkhead

The grass across the road from the ground is the easiest place to get parked. There are a fair few police about too, so it'll be safe. Its also fairly easy to get out of, and you'll be on the M74 in 5 mins. Its also free!

For the avoidance of doubt, anything stated in the above post is written without prejudice; is probably completely uninformed opinion, and possibly just a figment of my imagination. Readers should either ignore, treat with contempt, or simply accept the spirit it is written in, without recourse to huffy replies, legal action or threats of violence.
That includes YOU.

The last time I parked there, the kids enivatibly ran up to the car for the standard parking fee, seen me get out of the car and had only a chance to utter "pound tae wat...... ah fcuk it, he's a big bastird".

I wish that was true. Because the 'greatest fans in the world' always leave with 15 minutes to go, it is always gridlock trying to get away and can sometimes take half an hour or more to get on to the M74.

Does anyone know if there is another, quicker way to get away from the grassy bit and onto the motorway

And it actually happens too. The mobs in the Ice Cream wars had nothing on all those groups of neds that are in competition for your pound. Last time I was through they were too busy throwing bricks at each other to come round and try and get your dough from you
