Purple & Green has a spectacular aura about
SPL passport scheme for under 12's

Hibs were involved in this scheme last season, but apparently have withdrawn from the scheme. Ourselves and St Mirren will be the only 2 SPL teams not involved in the reciprocal arrangments.

Bank of Scotland Premierleague Passport

What is the “Passport”
The “Passport is a book of Vouchers which, when used on their own or, in certain instances in conjunction with a Match Ticket, guarantee free entry to certain away matches in the Scottish Premier League only. They will not be able to be used for any Cup or Friendly fixtures.

Participating Clubs and Available Spaces

· Unlimited Number of Places
Aberdeen, Dundee United, Inverness CT, Kilmarnock and Motherwell

· Restricted to 200 Places
Dunfermline Athletic

· Restricted to 100 Places
Celtic and Hearts

· Restricted to 50 Places
Rangers

Hibernian and St Mirren will not be participating in the initiative.

Who is Eligible for a “Passport”?
Holders of Season 2006 –2007, Under 12 Season Tickets will be eligible to be issued with a “Passport”. The Passport is issued to a named individual and MUST NOT be transferred to any other person.

How does a “Passport” Holder Gain Entry to Away Grounds?
First and foremost, at all Grounds, an ADULT PAYING FULL PRICE must accompany each “Passport” holder.

The following guidelines will cover the way in which access to each Ground will be dealt with.
· Fixtures with Clubs where Unlimited Places are Available
The Voucher itself will be treated as the Match Ticket. Each Voucher will have a serial number and one number will be allocated per match

· Fixtures with Hearts/Rangers/Celtic
These fixtures are All-ticket Matches and a ticket will be issued free of charge up to the maximum number agreed (100 Celtic/Hearts and 50 Rangers) in exchange for a “Passport” voucher. However this will only be issued if a full price Adult ticket is purchased at the same time.
While we are aware that tickets for All-ticket matches are also available through Telephone ordering and the Club Shop, the free tickets will only be issued through the Ticket Office. With regard to Telephone orders, the Ticket Office will require to have the vouchers in their possession, so early ordering will be essential.

Any Questions
Please direct any question to the Ticket Office helpline on 0870 300 1201

I fail to see why Hibs hav'nt entered into this scheme, especially as we were in it last year, as the Club tries to enhance its image as a "Family Club".

Hibs have a very large travelling support and its also noticable how many kids go to away games too. This scheme will help alleviate the financial burden most parents have of getting their kids to games. Coupled with their excellent family group tickets at ER, this scheme would be ideal for further building of the Hibees support for years to come.

Why are we not in it again?

I agree with you Colin. This is an excellent scheme that rewards young season ticket holders and encourages them to support their team. Not sure why Hibs should not be participating.

Just seems plain stupid that, given that they can limit the amount coming into ER, that they cant get some concessions for fans at away games.

Re: SPL passport scheme for under 12's

Colin,

Can we obtain a SPL passport from our ticket office? Does Hibs withdrawal from the scheme mean exclusion for Hibs season ticket holding under 12's.

Who are the supporters who thought it was a wise choice to exclude Hibs kids from benefiting from such a scheme.

Poor show all round. Getting my two into Inverness cost £30. Inverness have an unlimited No. of places. I was disgusted with their charges, but if it was Hibs who decided to withdraw from this scheme then maybe my anger was directed at the wrong club.

These are our future supporters and should be given every encouragement. This was an oppertunity missed.

Re: SPL passport scheme for under 12's

I have been racking my brains to think of a posible reason why we are not involved in this brilliant scheme this year... so far no ideas though. Did someone simply fail to meet a deadline for submitting a signature? I think the club should be asked about this.

Not impressive at all.

Say you allow for 100 supporters a game....then you're only losing out on what..1900@£10 = £19000, but that is effectively subsidising your under 16 travelling support at around a £1000 a game.

Feel free to pick at the figures, but considering that it would cost a 5 year old bairn or 15 year bairn I guess £200+ a season to follow Hibs to every away league game, surely this is an excellent way to unburden their parents of the costs?

I won't question your figures B, I reckon they are not far off. I know every penny counts, but that is true for the other SPL clubs too, many of whom don't get our level of support. If they can participate, why can't we?

This scheme was designed to encourage kids to get into going to games, to try and increase the size of away supports, which are often pretty pathetic. But it has to be given a good crack at the whip and we haven't given it that.

Re: SPL passport scheme for under 12's

As the guy who brought this up on the admin board when I discovered we had 'dropped out', I think people should be aware that I called the ticket office pre season to ask about how I got this years passports? I was told the SPL would NOT be running the system this season. Foolishly I believed it.

Jambos in my street are given a 'passport season book' and now go to most away games. Last season Hibs posted out the odd passport ticket which (it was suggested) was based on a 'names out the hat' basis.

Like others I have already spent a fortune on away entry for my lads, both of whom are well under 12, being charged £ 15 at Inverness and £ 12 for Celtic. My wrath had been aimed at the away clubs, but it seems those guiltiest of greed are Hibs.

Shame on them.
