Been reading in the paper that he forged his international transfer certificate.

Seems weird that something like this could happen if its true, if it is then i suppose he will be sent back to Morocco and we'll be left without one of the most exciting signings for a long time.

Assuming this story has legs, wouldn't be at all surprised if it's just his old club stirring the doggydoo because they are aggreived at the way he left.

Would be astonished if anything came of it, and if it does, there should be a beheading at ER.

HIBEES' ZEM DEAL HIJACKED BY MAFIA

EXCLUSIVE in the Sunday Oldfirm

HIBS' new signing Merouane Zemmama is at the centre of a transfer scandal after becoming a victim of rogue agents believed to have links with the Moroccan mafia.

Zemmama made his debut against Inverness last week - but his former club Raja Casablanca claim the player is still contracted to them and are demanding a transfer fee.

It's believed Zemmama has innocently been caught up in the controversy.

Raja Casablanca secretary general Abdellatif El Amine said : "We do not know how this player has managed to sign for Hibs.

"We suspect he has signed under false pretences and we are angry about this.

"We have contacted the authorities and as things stand he should not have been playing for Hibs against Motherwell yesterday."

It has emerged in his homeland that gangsters had made up FALSE papers claiming Zem was a free agent.

Hibees boss Tony Mowbray signed Zemmama (below) on a five-year deal on the strength of the information being genuine.

But police in Casablanca are now investigating the situation while outraged Raja Casablanca have faxed a copy of Zemmama's contract to Hibs and the SFA.

The Moroccans want a transfer fee for the player and will take the matter to FIFA if they are refused.

El Amine added: "Hibs and the SFA have been given copies of the player's contract with us that runs from 2004 to 2009. We are now awaiting a response from Hibs and FIFA who have also been notified."

An SFA insider said: "As far as we're concerned we received international clearance for the player. And, via FIFA, the player is eligible to play here."

But the documentation is thought to have been forged by Moroccan gangsters who are cashing in by transferring players to Europe and the Middle East. Mowbray would hate to lose Zemmama after he impressed on his debut.

And the Moroccan was equally impressive yesterday in the 3-1 Easter Road win over Motherwell as he showed pace and skill that mark him as a shrewd buy.

The Hibs boss spoke highly of him, saying: "He's a very talented footballer.

"I am sure he's going to be a great player for Hibs."

I se there has been no name given to the journalist who cobbled this together?

Once again a wind of scandal has just risen on national football. There has been so many rumours about Zemmana and i think most of these are not true but this would be a huge loss after looking at his quality on the park, and lets just hope this is not true....well i presume we will soon see at the game next week if hes playing or not.
