Evening News 'Your Say'

I was disappointed to read the Hibs 'fans' comments in the 'Your Say' column of last night's Evening News.

I'd be interested if any of the 3 contributors are bouncers and if they'd like to elaborate on their small statements which may have been cropped to appear worse than the original!

1. Graham Moore of Oxgangs stated TM has won nothing and the players he has brought in have been absolutely rubbish!

2. Mr Fergie of Comiston believes we have a very weak midfield and second division Strikers! in 40 years of being at ER this is the weakest team he's ever seen!

3. Alan Freedman thinks TM made a mistake letting Fletch go away with the U-19s, Kevin Thomson shouldn't be playing let alone be captain, the midfield have no talent, no vision and are very boring.

Now, I don't know if it's just me and please inform if it is but I think these comments are verging on ridiculous!

1. When was the last time any Hibs manager won anything, last season we won games that we wouldn't in other seasons expect to win and we have surely progressed under Mowbray

, the players are rubbish debate rages on but I do think that this is a common bandwagonesque statement without really looking at the contribution many of TM's signings have made!

2. Weak midfield compared to who? Italy, England, Chelsea

not weak in the SPL imo! Fletcher, Benji, Dalglish, Killen, Konte on a par with say Berwick's strikeforce=NO! If this is the worst team in 40 years we're in for a hard season because we will be relegated! I hope not!

3.Kevin Thomson is Club Captain and we know his abilities he must be allowed to play through a bad spell to regain confidence. If the midfield have no talent we shouldn't be worried about losing any of them to 'bigger' Clubs as it wont matter

I don't know who Mr Feedman is used to watching but if he doesn't think players like Brown, Beuzelin, Thomson, Sproule, Glass, Shiels can play exciting football he should go the pictures!

So is it just me or are these 3 guys reflective of the 'negativity' of current Hibs Supporters?

I would take our midfield of Brown, Thomson, Boozy, Stewart, Shiels, Ivan, Glass etc ahead of any other in the league, they are talking rubbish

If we bring in the three players Mowbray has been saying we will for months, then I would match Hibs against any team in the SPL. Our midfield is the best in the league when fit, and despite what some people think, we have players who can score goals. If we strengthen properly than it's a top 3 finish IMO. I'm struggling to think of another team outside the OF who are better than Hibs. Certainly not the JT's who will be found out big time this season. They have a big bloated squad, but not so big on quality and that's what counts at the end of the day. I also think the OF are in decline, so there really is not a great deal to worry about in the SPL. Fourth place for Hibs last season despite having a terrible defence and losing loads of key players throughout the season gives me hope for this season coming.

Plenty of reasons for optimism. It just needs our board and our manager to carry through what they said they would.

If we have a fully fit squad we're the best side in the fecking league!

I never buy the Record but in bars and Cafe Bars where i spend half my life (Professional reasons...) there are always copies around to pick up..

Funny i've never bought a copy of the Guardian and i never pick one up in certain Cafe Bar establishments either...

Probably a consortium of Yam fuds and not hibs fans after all. Unless they have all just woken from a deep slepp and blobby is still at the helm in which case some of their comments could be true.
