Lunatic Fringe
Maybe I just wasn't paying attention but I don't recall there being a Festival Cup derby last season. The inaugural one was on Sat 2.8.03 and an Andy Webster goal in the first half gave the scum the cup - but we beat them fifteen days later when it really counted!
The following year we lost 3-1 at Swinie in front of only about 7,000 fans. To put that in perspective, even the Jambos' own rag, commented on the Monday (6.9.03) about the 'impressive' Hibs support of about 2,500, which, incidentally, is more than the self-proclaimed Goliaths of the Athens of the North took to ER on either 22.10.00 or 21.10.01. I won't repeat the scorelines from those matches cos I get bored going on about the 6-2 and 2-1 Ulises DeLaSoul games. Whoops! I've done it again! Would I be right in suggesting that since the 'wee team' under Wolfe Tone always make the split the 'wee wee team' (cos, let's be fair, hertz smell of P-!-S-H) don't want another derby with us, whereas, before the additional gate receipts they'd hoped they'd get were attractive? I thought it was a fairly pointless exercise myself and, indeed, I didn't attend the first game, in protest at my ST not covering it. I similarly boycotted the Mackems game the previous Saturday. Of course, if Hibs were to moot the idea this season we'd be told by the Maroon Mugabe that their diary's full with fixtures against Jupiter Jizz Jigglers in the inter-planetary challenge. hertz, as big as Jiminy Cricket's Gary Locke. |

Top post, i remember being at both of the Festival Cup games, load of crap really, but as always, I was still disappointed to lose to them.
