Poor performance from us today but a poor result IMO for Odonese. With their chances and our awful display the tie should be over.

I found lots to be concerned about today. Goalkeeper, exposed on the right flank, exposed when crosses were thrown in and an almost non existant midfield. Stewart and Thomson need to contribute a lot more.

On the left and right Brown & Sproule were given poor supply but stil poor.

Despite all of that we will do a lot better next week against average opposition and IMO it only needs a full house to roar the players on to victory!

I think the Danes are capable of shutting up shop and getting a 0-0 draw. Hibs had nothing up front today and we were playing with our supposidly two best strikers. Fletchers out next week and i cant see Benji or Konte making much of a difference against a team out to defend. Brown will be a huge loss too.

Yup i agree ,Hibs will hammer dense next week next week, we were poor today but Odense were not much better to be honest and i think we can/definatley will reverse the scoreline in a weeks time.

What worries me is that i cant see where our goals are going to come from. Fletcher and Brown are going to be a huge loss.

It will be different at the holy ground. By all accounts Odense were not that good in Dublin. A good start playing at pace with guile and flair will see us through.

I am happy enough with the result but it does show the need for more signings. We will not compete with Rangers,Celtic or Hearts with the squad we have now. I'm optimistic that that we can't be as bad as we were in midfield again in the return leg. It seemed they were strolling thru' the middle in the first half and Thommo and Stewart (still not sure what role he is supposed to have in the midfield) especially were consistantly giving the ball away despite the coaching staff screaming at them to keep it. Defensively, collectively I still don't think we have got it right (early days tho'), there seems to be so much space between the midfield and the central defensive pairing..beat one player in our midfield and you are more or less thru on the centre back. We need to defend better as a unit and shut down the space more effectively. It's hard to judge the strikers on that performance, too often we put in hopeful crosses rather than created clear cut chances but I would say they worked hard.

On the bright side we only lost one goal and finished the game looking a bit brighter and sharper. Their left sided player looked a big threat running at us with the ball and we need to keep an eye on him for the second leg but all in all we are still in the tie after what most people agree was a disapointing performance. We'll have to show a lot of maturiy in the second leg as an away goal will kill it but we are capable of knocking this team out.

I honestly though the cabbage were no too bad. Not really troubled wi any high balls which was a problem last year. I though Jones was great. Agree midfield heavily overun. That could be sorted with an extra midfielder in the return. Brown was fairly solid in goals. Rioch did his homework. He crowded tommo and broon in the middle and hit our achilles heel right back position almost all the second have. However they had a couple of decent players. We know much more about them now and they're two danger men (who I canny remember their names

I've seen what odense have got and its no way out our reach to give them a turning over. So I'm faily upbeat about it.

TM keeps going on about wanting another striker. Clearly replacing our young duo is not going to be easy. They were gifted and replacing their talents is not going to be easy.

I think we will win next week but on the down side they will score,so a 2-1 or 3-2 to hibs is the most probable out come,but lets not get carried away it is only pre-season and as long as we are ready for the sheep that is the main thing.

Jock Brown and Archie lovell came out with some keek in the commentary but they were pretty spot on in terms of our performance.

Very few passing movements and no real end product.

We wernt our best but we had out chances and Fletcher had a brillaint chance. Dont think we deserved to lose but if we go out to Odense I will be shocked. We certainly have the ability to beat them. MON THE HIBEES

No away goal. Poor performance.

Nothing creative going forward is a major problem and it is what could cost us this season.

Only positive is that I dont think Odense are a very good side though.

Major improvement needed for start of SPL.
