Re: A dig at Blobby?

I was shocked to find out how some of the players viewed Blobby, they dont hold him in the same contempt that we do.

Re: A dig at Blobby?

Not just at Blobby, but at the whole club. It's up to the
players to stay, relatively, fit during the close season and
if the more experienced players here then didn't do that, then
they should be held responsible. They should also have been passing
their knowledge on to the younger players. This is in no way taking
the blame blame away from the fat, tactically useless hun bassa that
is Blobby

Re: A dig at Blobby?

I still can't believe a few people still backed him near the end of his reign. Those were the worst years I have had supporting Hibs. The guy made thousands of fans leave and made me watch the worst fitbaw I have ever seen.

But he still maintains that he done a good job at Hibs. He is an absolute joke.

He can hardly admit to being a failure. Although tactically naive, and not recognising his players' strengths and weaknesses ( espesh concerning O'Connor), he was an approachable bloke, even though unfit for the Hibs job.

.

I couldn't care about him being an approachable bloke, he made thousands of fans desert, tried to get rid of Deeks and made O'Connor become a target man and made us play the most boring fitbaw I have seen.

Lets not forget, " If you want entertainment go to the cinema".

Agreed. I thought he wasn't the man from day 1 and regret that I was proven correct. We blew the League Cup final cos of his lack of imagination.

I must admit I was one of the few who thought he would do a job.

His record had been decent, and we desperately needed someone to steady the ship.

I think when he accused Hibs of kicking his (footballing! no seriously!) team off the park not long before Franck got the bullet was fresh in the minds of the Board.
They honestly thought they were appointing a 'young football minded coach'.

Or so I heard.

For the avoidance of doubt, anything stated in the above post is written without prejudice; is probably completely uninformed opinion, and possibly just a figment of my imagination. Readers should either ignore, treat with contempt, or simply accept the spirit it is written in, without recourse to huffy replies, legal action or threats of violence.
That includes YOU.

I agree about him being approachable. Approachable to smack in the mooth. Worse managerial move I can remember.

I think you're correct about the steadying the ship. The board had bottled it in the way they sacked Sauzee, collective loss of nerve on their part. And Williamson seemed the reliable, safe, if unimaginative choice for them. After all Killie never looked likely to be relegated with him in charge. I never wanted him ar ER in the first place (ditto Lexo, another Largs coaching bore ), but he was the new manager and we had to give him a chance AND after all Killie had won the cup with him as manager. BUT sorry to say he was a flop and the 4-4 game at Tynie and the final versus Livi, are recurring nightmares. Anyway he was found oot soon enuf at Plymouth.

Re: A dig at Blobby?

If he had done the same for Hibs as he hasd for Killie the prvious 4 years (a Scottish Cup and 3 years in Europe out of 4) he would have been a legend.

He didn't though.

The funny thing is, I distinctly remember Williamson saying the squad were not fit enough when he arrived!!

God knows what Sauzee had them doing at training!!
