Chris Aims To Get Back To His Brazil-iant Best
CHRIS KILLEN has Brazilian superstar Lucio's shirt to remind him of the day he took on the world's top side - now he wants to prove he can be Hibs' No.1 striker.
The 24-year-old returned to Easter Road for the start of preseason training yesterday after taking on the South Americans on June 4 when his New Zealand side were dumped 4-0. The World Cup warm-up was the climax of a four-match European tour for the All Whites, with Killen shaking off the ankle injury which ruled him out of the last eight matches of the season to play in every game. Now the January signing from Oldham is hoping to ease Hibs' pain of losing Derek Riordan to Celtic by taking the SPL by storm. He said: "The last six or seven weeks of the season were disappointing. I missed them because of my ankle injury and I was still feeling it a bit going into the summer. "But I just pushed on to see if I could get fit and luckily enough that happened. In the game against Brazil, I felt really good, almost match fit, so it's great to get back here. I did okay against Brazil - but I didn't really see much of the ball. "I got Lucio's shirt after the game. It was pretty much a man-on- man battle so we just ended up swapping shirts at the end it was good to get something out of the game. "Now I just want to get a good pre-season under my belt and try to stay fit. I've already set myself my goals for the season but I'll keep them to myself and work away at achieving them."

Re: Chris Aims To Get Back To His Brazil-iant Best
Well since hes got Lucios top maybe he will start putting on a little style and be our top goal scorer next season as now i think this has given him the confidence he needs so we will see a new Chris next season.

Re: Chris Aims To Get Back To His Brazil-iant Best
Having played for the Kiwi's during the summer should help Hibs benefit i hope as Chris Killen will be very close to being as sharp as he has been since coming to Hibs. He actually looked very lean in the Brazil game and dare i say it we might still be yet to see the best of Chris despite some very good performances when he played as it was obvious the fitness was not up to what it could have been. First choice strike pairing of Killen and Fletcher with some good players as backup and the loss of Garry O and Riordan might not be as great as first feared.
