Riordan and Brown

Just read in the Herald that Scott Brown has started training today, 10 days early. Says he was offered the chance to come back early as he missed so much of the end of last season and wasn't fully fit when he did play.

Also says that Celtic may pay £150,000 for Derek Riordan to start the season with them.

Haven't read/heard any of this anywhere else so don't know how much truth there is in it

Thank god hope this is true about Celtic and Riordan, hope we get some sort of money for him even if its a bit(every little helps).

And as for Broony what a legend he wasn't fit when he was playing for us, he showed loyalty to us and i thank him for that. And by next season he will be fully fit and raring to go come on scotty

There was an article in the sun saying that talks had opened between HFC and the lessers regarding a fee to let Riordan go early, however RP stated that he wasnt to be taken for a mug as celtic allegedly offered under £100,000 at the weekend, Good man Rodders

Re: Riordan and Brown

I hope this Riordan situation is sorted out this week for everyones sake. I would hope Mowbray has a player in mind to replace him when the cash eventually comes in from Celtic.

Re: Riordan and Brown

There is a telling quote from Scott Brown on the BBC website:

Quote:
But Brown said: "The boss has just signed a new centre-half and hopefully will be looking for a striker.

Also read the Deek story in the Scotsman this morning, so there is more than a bit of truth to substantiate it.

Re: Riordan and Brown

This Riordan to Celtic now rumour was first in the Sunday Times yesterday. I'm struggling to give the rumour much credence, as the other part of the story said that Roy Keane would play next season.

Re: Riordan and Brown

Can't see us getting £150k from celtic for riordan because they would also have to pay his wages which might be another £150k -£200k. Plus they simply don't need him from the start of the season. Hibs hold all the aces here in my opinion.

TM will play Deek if he is still at Hibs because he can get us goals, the question might be will his goals be enough to justify turning down any money offered to us by celtic and do we want to do celtic any favours. I say phuck celtic.

I think Hibs would be doing the boy a huge favour to let him go now as the feeling among the fans towards DR will leave a bad taste in the mouth if he ever appears in a Hibs top again.

I think Hibs will hold out if celtic make any offer. I think TM will play him and I hope he scores a barrel load of goals before he leaves.
