Didn't see the game, but it would be ridiculous to pass judgement on a player over one game. If TM is keen to sign him I would have imagined that he would have been watching him over the course of the season, when apparently he has been Grimsby's best player.

Let's just back the managers judgement whoever he signs. At the end of next season we will be able to tell if his signings have been a success or not.

The same Doumbe that was inconsitent towards the latter stages of the season and at one point had Murdock carrying him.

We need someone that isnae' feared tae get dug in and go for all the attempted baws over the top as if his life depended on it. Maybe someone that doesnae' force young Hogg into so many mistakes like his ex-central defensive partner.

I'd be really happy with somebody in thesame mold as Paul Fenwick, always rated him, Won most of his headers, no frills but no nonsense and sometimes popped up with a flick on or a goal from a set piece!

We need a leader at the back Caldwell was not that sadly, I liked Doumbe as he was fast at the back, Smith was good but obviously age went against him, Murdock was just an utter nightmare but I think we need to look at getting a decent keeper to help the back 4, I dont think Brown is great but Id rather play him than Zibi. I thought Big Ollie was poor but this guy couldnt catch a cold

If Murdoch could have kept his concentration for longer than a goldfish I reckon he would have been a decent player for us tbh. Won most things in the air, actually used the ball pretty well out of defence, and was a good communicator.

You've got to balance that with him being as slow as a week in Saughton, and the fact that the more time he had to do things the chances of him making an almighty cock up increased exponentially. I still shudder when I think of the goal he gave away at Pittodrie when he had about half an hour to clear a bye kick and ended up sclaffing the ball for an Aberdeen player to stroll in on goal.
