Angry away tickets next season

looks like i will have to buy a tent and sleeping bag to camp out for tickets for away games next season because with us doing away with the early bird priority scheme and having no loyalty card or point system i will have to stand out in all weather,s to guarantee tickets what a bloody joke lets get this farce sorted out once and for all lets be honest my thread will be first of many on this joke system surely if you have been to all away games or most in the last few years you should get some priority or is that to simple because tickets for the huns, gunts and darkheid will be like gold dust lets just hope i get them but i can feel alot of queing will be needed next season

is that the same queue that everybody else will have to wait in?? There will be times when there won't be enough tickets, thats the price of the team doing well under Mowbray. Would you rather go back to the Blooby days when everyone who wanted a ticket got one because hardly anybody wanted to go

Re: away tickets next season

I've heard a few stories from some older Hibbies about back in the day when everybody had to que for away tickets. People would turn up with rakes of lager and a football, and their would be some great banter. TBH, if I had to walk across hot coles for a derby ticket I would do it, so queing for a few hours doesn't bother me in the slightest.

see yur point, but if we still had the early bird scheme then the 'normal' season ticket holders that go to every other game would miss out, this way everybody is the same, if we have to line up for hours for a ticket then so be it

Re: away tickets next season

Would it be worth introducing an away season ticket like the Yams have? That way people who go to all away games are rewarded for their loyalty (or stupidity depending on how you view it ) and know they are guranteed away tickets.

Re: away tickets next season

Leeds have an away day scheme that their fans have to sign up for. Then they buy the tickets which are assigned to their card, and then have to produce both card and ticket when trying to get into the away end at any game. Think they are also given a priority for cup games as well as for after last night Cardiff.

Gunner - did I hear you explaining a new away ticket purchasing thing on the way back from Killie?

OK here go's.

I was invited to a meeting at Easter Road a couple of months ago by Club officials. Present at the meeting were ...

Club

Colin McNeil(Director for Marketing and Communications), Gary O'Hagan(Director/Club Secy), David Forsyth(PR/Communications) and Judith Quinn(Ticket Office Manageress)

Fans
Frank Dougan(HSA), Jim Gardiner(Stanton Branch) Willie McFarlane(Southern), Sean Fagan(Leith), Stevie Brockie(Carlton), James Mills(Central) and Stevie Carr. There were aprox 7-8 other fans there but I'm not sure of their names, or the branches they represented.

The meeting was called in light of the all-night queuing fans had to do to be sure of getting a brief for various ticket matches, as it was noticable to the Club that the same faces were showing up in the queues all the time, and invariably, were buying bulk tickets either for branches or groups travelling together. Basicly what you might call the "hard-core support" who turn up at EVERY match without fail. It was the Clubs feeling that if these fans were more organised through the club then the tickets would still get to them and this might alieviate all-night queuing for most of the travelling support.

The plan being ...

Branches would submit a list of their members at the start of the season. For each away game an allocation of tickets would be distributed to each branch on application(ie, members would tell their club secy/convener that they want to go to, eg: Falkirk, and the branch would apply for XX amount(Season Ticket holders getting priority)). This would happen before any public sale of tickets. Once the branches allocation was dealt with, the remainder of tickets would be sold, as per usual, to ST holders, then non-ST's, etc, if enough remained.

The "registration" of branches with the Club is independant of the HSA, and solely to do with acquiring away match tickets. Just in case anyone was under the impression if a non-HSA branch regied with HFC they think they would be affiliated to the HSA, this is not the case. So Hibs Club benefits would not apply. Just to clear that up.

Basicly what it means is, it is to your advantage, if you are a regular traveller to away games, to be a member of a supporters club/branch who are in this scheme. The club view fans travelling to away games in organised branch buses a much easier security issue than the fans who travel independantly, ie, cars, trains, etc.

The Bounce is currently making plans to form our own branch so our members are not left out, more details of this will be made public in the near future. Pleases dont start a thread, or post on this one, asking for membership as it will be ignored until we have a set constitution/rules etc, drawn up.

cheers

Non ST holders who are branch members getting preference over ST holders who are not I wonder if this can cause as much of a stink as the Earlybird scheme did
