Of course he should go to the final - anyone grudge him that treat. If by some miracle we happened to be in the UEFA Cup final, do you think Gordon Strachan or Yogi Hughes would refuse to go to the game ?

Good point mate. TM should definately go, he has already defused any potential "Mowbray watches Middlesborough in EUFA cup final - Imminent new manager" articles in the papers so he shouldnt deny himself the pleasure of seeing his team play in and hopefully win the EUFA cup.

Re: GO Tony Mowbray!

I read his comments in yesterday's 'Retard' (only Scottish paper I can get down here) and I thought that there are possibly two explanations for his having having made them to the press:
(a) he's a big bairn and he likes a good sulk (not likely)
(b) he's very naive and tells journos more than he should (possible, but I'm not taken)
(c) he wishes it was himself that was managing boro on the nite and is worried that the inevitable scrum of reporters there would manage to get him to admit he hopes he'll be installed as ruddy cheeked McLaren's successor (probably the real reason for his remarks)

Sorry for being such a cynical cat again but I couldn't believe a grown man, 42 years old, husband and father would make such ridiculous comments.

Oh, did you know his date of birth is 22.11.1963 - grassy knoll conspiracy theory!

Re: GO Tony Mowbray!

It would be complete madness for Mowbray to go to this match as the assumption would rightly be made that he is likely to be appointed as the next manager. Imagine the TV pictures showing him sitting a few seats from Steve Gibson.

Hence you would have to have a complete lack of media savvy and a failure to understand basic speculation and rumour to attend this match and Tony is of course to streetwise to let this happen.

Alternatively he might pop along and have another whinge again about how little money he has, how poor the training facilities are, that he doesn't want to stay long term in Scotland, that about 3 years is long enough at any club and who wants to finish 4th every year and Venus could chip in with 'How job speculation is a good thing''.

I wouldn't put it past them.

Seemingly he is now 2nd favourite for the job behind Paul Jewlio with Martin O'Neil being eased out presumably as he has leaked a GTF story.

Though Terry Venables is right up there as well which shows you that no one has a clue what Steve Gibson will do.
