Bossie will become famous soon enough
Re: Murphy, Scott Brown & Michael Stewart and

I'm toiling to understand this Bobby - is this saying that Stewart only played the once when Murphy and/or Brown were not playing?

Re: Murphy, Scott Brown & Michael Stewart and

Aye they're all undoubtedly important and influential. It's just a pity Michael Stewart has to do so much more in the eyes of some. Maybe it's the jambo connection.

Personally I'd have him in my team in a minute. He provides a bit of steel and dig that is sadly lacking when him and Brown are out.

I don't disagree with that, but Michael Stewart has to make more effort to win over the Hibs support. Obviously consistent performances are the bottom line, but perhaps reciprocating the applause given to him, when substituted, as he never does, would be a help..

Stewart has started only one game when Murphy and Brown were missing.

He's played 14 games with Murphy. when Brown was missing

He played 1 game with Scott Brown, when Murphy was missing.

He played 1 game when both Scott Brown and Murphy were missing

And he played 13 games with both Murphy & Brown in the same team.

Making for a total of 14 + 13 + 1 + 1 starts this season, ie 29 starts. Does that make sense now?

The point being, that our strongest team is a match for anyone. Take just one key player out, and we start to struggle.

Perhaps putting in more than 1 good performance a month would be a help

I dont care about the Yams connection I was a big fan of him earlier but to get 2 good performances one after the other happens once in a bloody eclipse. Theres no doubt he's got ability but just does not perform enough for me.

Totally agree. Mikey Stewart is a fantastic player. Cant understand the stick he gets.

If Mikey gets through next season with no major injuries - playing perhaps alongside Brown, Thomo and Deano in the midfield - then the yams and weegees aint gonna be dominating fuck all.

I'd have a fit, in-form, Mikey as a first pick any day. With Boozy, Glass and Whits as quality midfield back up...

Postiga is on the way to a first team debut
Re: Murphy, Scott Brown & Michael Stewart and

Mikey Stewart does the job that isn't spectacular and isn't credited for it. He breaks play down and passes the ball. Not the most exiting thing a player can do but its an important role.

Give him 2 more years,

It's not the Jambo connection in my eyes.

It's because he only lifts his game against Celtic & Rangers, he's been posted missing in EVERY derby.

He hasn't exactley lit the heather on fire against Livi, Dunfy Dundee Utd etc etc for a Man Utd youth product has he.

He's always injured aswell.

Id much rather we ditched him and brought in someone else.

Re: Murphy, Scott Brown & Michael Stewart and

i disagree, when he plays well he holds our team together, one of our best players in my opnion. Its just a shame that murphy, scott and stewart have been linked with other clubs though..

I think we should dump him. He only ever turns up for the big games, and is always injured.

Re: Murphy, Scott Brown & Michael Stewart and

Well here are the sums -

In the 60% of games Stewart played in we picked up 85% of our total points.

In the 40% of games Stewart missed we picked up 15% of our total points.

So what are we saying? He's just a 'good luck' charm in all those games he is anonymous?

But I'll leave it to someone else to try to explain our dismal record when he isn't there.

Whatever way, he's hardly a liability to the team!
