Not a hope in hell Jimmy.

Two completely different outlooks on the game and Tony will want to remain his own man..

If he's considering and is offered what would like to bet with me as a personal bet he would not take it

Typical BBC story, it doesn't have anything from Mowbray himself in it, no quotes. Seems like a typical "BBC Scotland understands that...*insert pishy rumour here*" sort of thing to me

Correct!

I dont think Mowbray would take it if offered anyway, from day one he's said that Hibs are a great club for the young players to stay and learn their trade and if they are good enough, they will get a big move and i believe the same will apply for himself.

Also i dont think Broony, Thommo, Sproule, Murphy Whitty and the rest would have signed long extensions if they werent sure who the boss was gonny be?

Do you honestly think Mowbray would turn down the Middlesbrough if offered it

Yes, i do. A couple of reasons;

1) As i said, from day one he has said Hibs are a great place for all the young players AND himself to learn their trade and if they are good enough then they will get to where they desrve to be in football.

2) His article in a sunday paper recently stated he reckons he will be at Hibs for a couple of more years.

3) He's been building something good at Hibs and dont think he would bail out now.

4) Maybe most important - I dont think that HE would think he's good enough yet - he has done better than we could've expected but has also made a lot of mistakes because he's not experienced enough yet which is understandable.

All just my opinion, hope im right!

Re: Mowbray away if offered the job

Worst case scenario would be that some players might want to follow him down there, we know Boro have a bit of cash and could easily bid for our players, and obviously Mowbray would love to see some of our players go down there........lets no go there though

1) A lot of things will have changed from the first day he was in charge, if Middlesbrough came calling, then he'd be offski.

2) Never seen the article, but he said there is no way he'd be at Hibs for 4 seasons

3) He is building something good, but IMO Middlesbrough would be too good for him to turn down.

4) I think he'd have every confidence in his own ability, and would relish a crack at the premiership with one of his favourite teams.

By the way, I hope I'm wrong and your right though

I'm sure if Tony moved down to Middlesbrough or elsewhere he'd miss working with such a visionary and adventurous chairman like Rod Petrie.

Re: Mowbray away if offered the job

I think it's too early for the prodigal son to return.

He hasn't the depth of experience that the job requires, and maybe in a couple of years or so he will be the dream appointment. But not now.

He hasn't actually proved himself yet.
Decent results for Hibs in many games...... I won't list them but it includes a couple of 3-0's.... tempered by a few bad results... includes a 4-0 or three.

He's made some good signings; Murph in particular, and some bad.

His judgement has to be honed a bit.

I don't go along with this 'money is the whole solution' or why have a manager or coach?

Surely the owner could pick the team. Wait a minute.

For the avoidance of doubt, anything stated in the above post is written without prejudice; is probably completely uninformed opinion, and possibly just a figment of my imagination. Readers should either ignore, treat with contempt, or simply accept the spirit it is written in, without recourse to huffy replies, legal action or threats of violence.
That includes YOU.

Space-filler for "St Martin is the preferred option."

However, I think Mowbrihno will go, and Hibs will recruit Alex Miller as his replacement.

I think Broony et al would be daft to sign better deals for themselves (more money + longer security) regardless of the manager situation. Managers contracts mean very little these days - a long contract only means more compensation.

I'd agree with this - if it weren't for the fact that McLaren had less experience than Mogga (assistant at Oxford, Man U and another that escapes me).

He was a temporary first team coach at Derby I think.
