Seven Tattoos is on the way to a first team debut
On This Day In History

Saturday 27/04/85 Hibs 0-4 St Mirren
Utter p!sh. A David Winnie (later 2 play for the skates) goal going down the slope and a couple from Brian Gallagher and McAvennie had the Paisley Saints four up after 58 minutes. It could have been worse! Highlight of the game was the temperamental scoreboard above the Cowshed which flashed up Rangers 1, Hearts Z. For the record, the huns won 3-1. This was our fourth defeat of the season to St Mirren and all in all fifth on the bounce.
Two weeks later they humped hertz 5-2 at Love Street to qualify for Europe. Just something about five goals at Love Street that always causes misery to Jambos!
I always remember Stewart Brown's heading on that Saturday's Pink News: SINNERS HIBS MAKE IT EASY

Saturday 27/04/91 St Johnstone 0-0 Hibs
End of season game, no relegation and a fixture involving the two clubs in which Houchie didn't pagger Tommy Turner. A rarity that season.

Saturday 27/04/02 Hibs 2-2 Dundee
By this time I was workin part-time in The Vicky on a Saturday and, as with most post-split games with Alex Miller Mark 2 (Wee Fat No Neck Boab) in charge, I was oafmatits in the afternoon. Consequently, I don't remember much about this game. Sure we were behind twice with Townsley equalising in the first half. We fecked oaf back to the boozer when Dundee went 2-1 up but apparently Gary O'Connor's late equaliser was a feckin beauty.
This was the first match that the v-neck strip was worn, i.e. the one worn during the 1-5 and 4-4 games.

No kidding. For whatever reason, most of the games between Saints and Hibs in my time have been absolute shockers. Either Saints have been so rubbish that it was a no-contest, or the games have been tight low scoring games.

I do (vaguely) recall Houchen lamping Tommy 'Bam' Turner in the cup tie, which Hibs had hitherto dominated. After Houchen was sent off, Saints went on to win 2-1(and eventual doom in the semi final against Dundee United, the first of many cup disasters for moi).

I can only remember one really good game in my time, a 3-3 draw at Easter Road (around about this time of year in 2000). Latapy scored a cracker for the first. Hibs then went 2-0 up and were cruising for most of the game, before an absurd Saints fightback up the slope made it 2-3 with about 5 minutes left, before Hibs scrambled an equaliser in injury time. One of the Saints goals came from a John (soon to be of Hibs) O'Neil thunderbolt which hit the bar, then bounced in off Nick Colgan's back.

Re: On This Day In History

Sat 15/04/2000 Hibs 3-3 St Johnstone
Scoring as you stated. Mixu with last minute equaliser for the Hibs. Week after we'd fecked it up against the SSBs at Hampden.

Sat 30/09/2000 St Johnstone 0-3 Hibs
Zitelli's first goal for Hibs, Latapy with a peach and a Sauzee special from a freekick. It was my 29th bday so I celebrated in style.
Judas Jukebox got 2 on his hertz debut the following day (they beat Motherwell 3-0).
Little did he know at the time though, 3 weeks later and he wouldn't enjoy his only Embra derby in maroon!

I was usually drunk out of my skull when Williamson was the manager. To be fair, it was during his reign that I met most Bounce pals for the first time, usually in the process of getting drunk out of our skulls.

Bring back Bobby

That game at McDairmid Park remains the most one-sided, Hibs dominated game I have ever been to. The gulf between the teams that day was massive. A week later we beat the huns 1-0 at Easter Road with Zitelli scoring

Nah, the overhead kick was against Dundee at Dens Park. His goal against huns at ER was a one-on one with the keeper.

Like I said above, there have been quite a few games (mostly when Sandy Clark was Saints manager) when Saints were so pash that the game was uncompetitive. As it so happens, I didn't see that particular game as I was working weekends during that season (2000/1).
