I've accepted defeat on Hibs holding onto Deek, and really don't mind where he goes as long as its NOT Glasgow

Re: loko in for deek??

Good - hope he goes there. Would be a good move for him - O'Connor doesn't seem to be doing all that bad, and to get any kind of big move to the premiership he'll need to have proper champions league experience.

And it's not just along the end of the M.8!

Re: loko in for deek??

Sounds like a great move for him but I'm not sure if he's got the temperament/maturity to handle it. He might be better off in Germany or somewhere. I get the impression he's not going to want to go abroad and Premiership clubs who want him may be thin on the ground. Doesn't leave many options...

Re: loko in for deek??

Riordan & O'Connor are good mates. They have played together from youth football right up to the top team at Hibs. They obviously have a great understanding on the park.

The opportunity for Riordan is huge. He should take it. In 5 years he would be financially secure for life and at only 28 at his peak.

If it's not going to be Hibs then avoid Glasgow and Go East!

Re: loko in for deek??

that's ridiculous bullsheep. we wanted to sign riordan before garry but failed and took garry. so negotiations about his transfer are over. it would be funny to see both garry and derek in loko strip though...

Re: loko in for deek??

I reckon there's alot of truth behind this

1, The Loko boss ,when in charge at Lokeren was looking at signing the both of them but could not afford them.

2, Deek stated when the mysterious Russian club came in for him before that he wanted to stay in the UK, but after Garry O left, there was a statement from Deek that said if he did leave ER he would prefer a move abroad, Coincedence i dont think .

This would probably be the best move for both parties, as Hibs would probably still get a good fee from Loko, and it would get Deek away from all the things dragging him down back home, let him concentrate on his football. Also it should help him and Garry perform better for the club. The only thing that makes me think this is doubtful I had read that the loko boss is under pressure as results have not been as good as hoped for.

Re: loko in for deek??

Maybe I'm being slightly paranoid, but we play the filthy huns in less than 1 week, and the Daily Retard has a story about one of our best players leaving. This is just the usual weegie media crap, a pathetic effort to unsettle a player before we hump them and rob them of their UEFA cup spot.

Re: loko in for deek??

this would be a brilliant move for deek.

gaz was saying in one of his interviews that it's a less physical, slower game in russia - this would suit him down to the ground IMO. he'd be banging in the screaming goals for fun

I would be far more worried about Derek's friendship with Ihun Murray. The Locomotive Moskow story is rubbish, simply a page filler with no factual base.

sorry to piss on your chips but if I win the euro millions on friday I'm buying the jags and taking deek to maryhill so GIRUY!

PS can we keep this strickley hush hush I haven't quite got round to letting anyone at partick thistle know yet....

I dont think I could buy hibs as it'd be too stressful - i've got too my emotional invested hibs already and too be honest I'd go abit vlad-ish and start pick the team, then you lot would no doubt turn against me and kick russian hat style equivelants down easter road!

Ian Murray can't get in GJP squad. What chance does he have with the incoming new coach?

Ian Murray.

I douby we would be able to buy a better player player than Derek with the transfer budget and wages that we're offering.

Re: loko in for deek??

Loko would be a great move, if they get over their messy start to the season they could challenge for europe/champions league.

I don't think the old firm could/would offer him 16 grand a week...

And I don't think Glasgow offers the sort of talent Moscow does

Re: loko in for deek??

The fact he looks set to leave is inevitable now but hope he goes to Loko, Kaiserslaugten (SP) so that he won't come back to haunt us like so many players have done so in the past.
