I was in the upper stand above the pens. it was amazing looking down at the Hibees going mental when we scored. Also remember getting interviewed getting off the ferry about the two guys that where sadly killed.

Check the first leg report.

the second [goal] by the Dutch dangerman, Peter Van Vossen.

Against a side of great skill and composure - Van Vossen and Bruno Versavel were outstanding
The Peter Van Vossen?

Must be something about Ibrox that turns good players into crap ones when they enter hell's gates.

Aye, the Peter Van Vossen, and outwith Ivan Sproule and Arthur Duncan, he was the fastest player I've seen at Easter Road. He covered the whole pitch that night and was excellent.

Outwith his Ibrox debacle, Van Vossen was a great player and didn't deserve the abuse. OK as a hun he did deserve it for wearing that blue snot rag.

Van Vossen though was no mug. Two league championships and a Champions League medal all with Ajax before the huns. Followed by a league championship and Dutch Supercup win with Feyenoord after the huns.

I know, he was excellent at Feyenoord as a winger circa 2000-2002. There was a few of their games on our telly at that time because they did well in the uefa cup (they won it once after they put out the Huns, about the time GJP took over). I think he even got back into the Dutch national team for a while.

It was quite strange how the Scottish commentators of the games he was playing in couldn't help but going on about the miss in the OF game, as if it was the only thing he had done (or hadn't done) in his career.

Re: Hibs v Anderlecht

My abiding memory of the trip to Brussels was the ferry terminal at Dover and the Huns being there at the same time en route to their European tie. We were kept apart (Hibbies indulging in a massive football match in the car park that was a forerunner to yon daft Tennents advert on tv) but as our boat pulled out of dock the Huns boat pulled out at the same time, in the dock to our right.

One said member of their species decided to moon at us over the side of the boat...never heard so many shouts in unison of "Fall ya basturt!" at one time.

It's just that mine arrived today but they won't play in my dvd player.
I had to re rip them and write new copies , not sure why because all the files were as they should be.
Excellent quality though

Up there easily with the best atmosphere I've experienced with Hibs...missed out on Dnipro this season, would love to have another crack at Euroo footie next season.
remember well that £150 bonanza in the footy draw in le nip royale just before departure.

great trip marred slightly by two ' hibbies ' brassing their case to crash in our mates hotel room then dipping his wallet when they were asleep for cash, match ticket etc. not seen the boy at a game since and my mate swaggered into the game ticketless anyway as did a few others.
best ever atmosphere at a Hibs game imho.

Initially it was one in the lower 'paddock', myself and another guy managed in very bad french to get them to open a second section. There were Hibs fans in the seats above the terrace too.

Stevie Carr tells a very funny story of meeting Huns in amsterdam before this game. Without spoiling the tale, one or two bluenoses ended up taking a dook in the canal!
