Another Mogga/ 'Boro thread

Inadvertently maybe.

On eurosport2 news this morning.
The favourite for the england job is Felipe Scholari.

So, by that, can we deduce that Tony Mowbray is favourite for Felipe Scholari's old job?

Re: Another Mogga/ 'Boro thread

Hate to say it but the denial and seemingly ignorance of this from Scolaris end makes me think he might be a smokescreen to take the heat of Mclaren who is being allowed to get on with his job before being employed once Middlesboro's season is over.

Yeh there was people saying he was going to be sacked at the end of the season even though he signed a new 4 year deal about a week beforehand.

Re: Another Mogga/ 'Boro thread

I will be amazed if England appoint Scholari as their new manager. Apart from not being able to speak a word of English, the general consensus down south is that the foreign national coach experiment has (thankfully) done it's time, and they should appoint an Englishman this time to be in charge. I think McLaren will get it, but I doubt 'Boro will be after Mowbray to replace him. The biggest threat to us possibly losing him will be the likes of Wolves or Ipswich, both of whom will be looking for a new boss in the summer IMO.

was listening to rodney marsh on talk sport,he says scholari (through his agent)wont even speak to anybody about a job until after the world cup,so in his thinking what was a 2 horse race is now down too one, england want the new manager to be involved not in selection but in the set up,HE ALREADY IS !!!! ........dont mean tm will go but boro will be looking for a new manager and before the world cup, as again quoted pre season starts for most clubs the week before the world cup ends (about july 7th) so we may be watching TMs last few games in charge.....hope not !!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Another Mogga/ 'Boro thread

Very surprised at Scolari being offered the job. Maybe it's just the football traditionalist in me, but I firmly believe that a National coach should come from the country of the team. I feel that's what International football should be about, having the very best that YOUR country can offer both player wise and also manager/coaches.

Scolari can't speak English for a start, and his record would suggest to me that he won't be able to achieve any more with the bunch of over-rated prima-donnas that make up the current England squad, than Sven did. I know he won the World Cup with Brazil, but Berti Vogts won the Euro Championship with Germany in 1996

I thought McLaren was a stick-on, but it won't affect the Mowbray situation anyway, as he would not have been the man to replace him. The situation at Wolves and Iswich are the ones we need to be interested in.
