Konde

Superb game before his legs tired. Just the kind of player in midfield we've been needing all season..

Re: Konde

The lad is finding his feet now and looking a good defensive midfielder after having had a decent run of games and covered a lot of ground today both in attacking and defensive situations. Also handy is his height at set pieces.

In my honest opinion he is a bit like what rocastle was in that he struggled to get into the pace of the games initially but now he has played a few games back to back he is starting to look the part.

He was a lot better today, but I'm afraid he will continue to struggle.
His effort today was great and he chased and harried..............

But I'm yet to be convinced that he's the answer.

I think Mowbray was tipped off about a great prospect called Konbe and he's come close to signing him a couple of times.

For the avoidance of doubt, anything stated in the above post is written without prejudice; is probably completely uninformed opinion, and possibly just a figment of my imagination. Readers should either ignore, treat with contempt, or simply accept the spirit it is written in, without recourse to huffy replies, legal action or threats of violence.
That includes YOU.

He looks good in the tackle but bloody hell, his passing is abysmal. As long as his role is to be a hard tackling huddy we'll be alright. Decent player to have in the squad.

Re: Konde

I thought Konde had an excellent game today, and broke up the play well when Hearts were coming forward. What a difference it makes having someone with some physical stature in the middle of the park. He is still getting used to the pace and style of the game here, but I for one was impressed by his contribution today.

Re: Konde

Konde would have been a contender for MOTM IMO. Really broke up play well in the midfield and stopped Hartley effectively.

I agree, a 6' 2''man who couldnae tackle a fish supper, just what we need. Oh for a modern Matty Jack or John O'Neil.

Sorry, I don't agree with that. I saw him making some fine tackles, and stopping a few threatening moves, and winning balls in the air for good measure. It's noticeable how Hearts created hardly any clear cut chances today through the middle. I might be wrong, but it might have been something to do with having a big, strong player in the middle of the park offering extra protection to the back four. Let's not forget, he has not played a lot of games in the last 4 years, and hardly started any since he signed for Hibs. I've seen enough of him to think he will do job for us.

I thought he played well today, and even though he understandably tired in the second half and had to be replaced, I think he can be well pleased with his contribution to our win today.

I'd agree with that in games before the Hearts one. But you've got to give the guy credit for yesterdays performance. He tackled, he passed well. Well player Oumar.

Re: Konde

he was a definite difference to our defending yesterday and in the first half last week as well. Doesn't seem to be match fit and his distributution could be better when he wins the ball.
