On This Day In History
Yep indeed! It's your weekly dose of anal retentive Welsh Hibbieness:
Saturday 18.04.98 - A huge travelling contingent of 8,000 Hibbies followed McLeish's men to East End Park after the Lavety and Harper inspired win that had dealt a mortal blow to the scum's attempts at the title. It was an outrageously sunny day and, just after the break, an og by Brebner (then free of gambling rumours and paparazzi stalking his every p!sh) put the home side a goal up. Fortunately, another injury time goal (this time by Brian Welsh) rescued a point. The escape was still on. Saturday 18.04.92 - Last home game of the season was a 1-1 draw with the SSBs. A pre-hat-trick hero Mixu put the lamb lovers a goal up before a late header from teenage prodigy Graeme Donald salvaged a point. Saturday 18.04.87 - Lexo's first return to Love Street as Hibs boss only a week after they'd qualified for the Cup Final by beating the scum 2-1. Hibs took the lead in the last minute through Kane (I think, it may have been Mickey Weir though) only for them to equalise from the re-start. So three 1-1 draws in the club's recent history on this date. More Rainman type nonsense next week! |
