Thinking Just before kick off yesterday

After seeing the lads come out first and applaud the tic on,it left me wondering...

a) Why did we do it?
b) Would we have done it if it were the Huns or Yams who had won the league?

I understand that the obvious answer to the first question is respect but c'mon there players, fans etc have treated us like dirt for years and yet we applaud them onto the park I personally disagreed with that yesterday,am i right to do so or am i just being bitter and twisted

Thoughts anyone...?

I would completely agree it was wrong of us to do that. It makes us seem like nothing compared to them and i would like to know how it came about. But well done Zibi for walking away with his back turned

Re: Just before kick off yesterday

I didnt see the players come out.

This is the first ive heard of the players doing that. Fecking joke if you ask me, theres respect and then there is too much respect.

It gives the impression that they are superior to us even before a ball has been kicked.

The answer is 'Yes'. I remember a few years ago, hearts made the group stages of the EUFA Cup. all the other scots teams were out of europe before Xmas, The following Derby at Easter Road, the jambos started singing 'there's only one team in europe'. The Hibbies supporters - almost to a man -, applauded the Hearts team achievement. I've always been proud to support the Hibees and this is just one of the reasons why. This, in my opinion, is why we are bigger than the Hearts.

Don't think we should've clapped them but after watching the full 90 mins again today I noticed Jay Shields didn't clap , just stood giving every Celtic player an evil look Also well done Zibi for walking away (and for your performance)

Re: Just before kick off yesterday

Ah I reckon it's right to clap the players on for their championship collecting game, give them the guard of honour (or whatever that thing is called), no matter who the champs are - even He*rts, even though you hate heving to do it. They're champions of the competition that every team is playing for so they deserve respect, imagine how good it will feel if.. when we win the league and our rivals do it outta respect for us.. and if they dont do it then we have a claim to being better supporters of the game to them.

Anyway 2 minutes of respect, grin and bear it and then is back to hating them.

I agree with what Alan Gordon said, respectfull supporters dedicated to their club and Scottish football- one of the reasons we can be proud to follow Hibs and I hope we never lose it

I dont think we should have applauded them, we are not subservient to them they can fuckin bolt. Its not exactly a major achievement the old fim winning the league, particularly when one half of them has been rancid all year.

He shouldn't have been wearing a Hibs jersey. His last game should have been in January. It is a disgrace he remains the captain of Hibernian.

I think it shows what sort of a team hibs are when it comes to things like that. Notice you never see a hibs player dive, walk away with the ball when a free kick is given or time waste. It is a good attitude to have and the reason im always proud of the team at the end of the day.

I think we were right to clap them bileve it or no the old firm would do the exact same...for example the last game of the season against huns sure we lost but when we realised we were in europe the players came out and done a lap of honour and sure enough the huns clapped aswell and i bilieve if rangers done it celtic would do it!

My theory on that is Rangers clapped us because we didn't try towards the end of the game.

I'm sure had they not won the league they wouldn't have clapped.
