Mowbray's comments

So Tony Mowbray does'nt think he'll be at Hibs in three years time if we do not progress as he sees fit. I would likt to point out to him that I don't want to see us fininsh fourth, behind the Old Foirm and Hearts, I would like us to win the league and/or a cup as would fans of most clubs if asked. It's nice to see some loyalty from your manager and it makes you wonder what his point is. Is he touting himself for the Middlesborough job, if Steven McLaren gets the England job as expected, surely his ego is'nt that big that he thinks because he has had one good season he's ready for the Premiership, lets remind ourselves he's not won a trophy yet.
Lets look at the facts, out of all his signings only one stands out, David Murphy, the rest, I include Guillaume Beauzelin in this as well have not lived up to his hype, Beauzelin has been unfortunate through injuries and I'm sure he will prove to be a good player but certainly not in the class that Mowbray thinks he is. He has been tactically naive on more than one occasion, most notably in the Scottish Cup Semi against Hearts when playing Steven Whittaker and Gary Caldwell, who should be stripped of the capataincy at least after signing with Celtic even though not too long ago he was urgning players like Derek Riorden to sign deals at Hibs to keep this team together and see what we could do, out of position. He has signed players he does'nt even play, Konte and Konde spring to mind immediatly and then plays Benji who had'nt kicked a ball competively for months in one of, if not the most important game in our history! He inherited a great bunch of youngsters and has given them a ball in training something his predecessor, Blobby Williamson, failed to do and it has come off for him in certain matches most notably against one of the poorest Rangers teams I have seen in years. If he thinks that because of the financial constraints at the club we cannot compete then that is a failing on his part, money does not bring you success, hard work brings you success in whatever job you do, just ask Mr McLeish who despite a far larger budget than every other club outwith Celtic look likely to fail to get into the Chamions League next season.
All I have to say to Tony is that us Hibs fans will not put up with this kind of outburst of disloyalty no matter what kind of football he plays, there are certain managers who would give their right arm to manage Hibs and surely he realised the financial implications when he took the managers job. I sympathise with the fact that we don't have a training ground but then again we don't have someone willing to invest that sort of money. I also don't think that any club outwith the top ten say in the English Premiership would not consider a £5million offer for one of their young players, Kevin Thompson, who has undoubted potential but potential it is. Tony please keep your mouth shut unless you have something positive to say and get on with managing the club that has given you a great opportunity and if your not happy you no where the door is.

He should remember that Jim Jeffries couldn't cut it in the Championship and he actually managed to win something with the same sparse resources - he has a way to go yet before he's a master of his craft.

I agree, I'm a wee bit disappointed that he has come out with this quote just now, especially at this stage in the season and especially with Saturday's game against the scumbos coming up.
