Erin Go Bragh

Could someone do me a favour and translate this?

Just never thought about it before but wonder what it is and how it came about?

I bought a scarf with Erin Go Bragh on it, though didn't know what it meant at the time. Gotta love the Irish though

And Hibs are basically an Irish/Scottish club, rather than just Scottish...

Read The Making of Hibernian by Alan Lugton and you won't be asking these questions. Great read

Aye, I think the first Hibs badge was a harp on it's own. I didn't like the old one with the football and "Hibernian" across it, glad they changed it to the current one. We have one of the nicest badges in football IMO.

Same here, I don't really have any Irish blood myself, but the club's Irish roots are interesting and appeal to me. Gives us a unique background, plus I like the Irish

Fair enough but it doesn't make me want to carry a flag glorifying a country i've no connection with or ever visited . Each to their own , it just doesn't really appeal to me

Re: Erin Go Bragh

According to Alan Lugton's book 'Making of Hibernian' Hibs adopted Erin go bragh as their motto.
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the green flag with a gold harp and Erin go bragh on it fly above our main stand in the early days?

Not sure as I haven't read the book for a while.

Currently reading it. About half through and haven't come across anything about the the flag flying over the Main Stand. In the book I'm just past the stand being built at ER. Will let you now soon.
As said earlier great read

For the avoidance of doubt, anything stated in the above post is written without prejudice; is probably completely uninformed opinion, and possibly just a figment of my imagination. Readers should either ignore, treat with contempt, or simply accept the spirit it is written in, without recourse to huffy replies, legal action or threats of violence.
That includes YOU.
