Ticketing fiasco

..Jackie Mac(Snr) says in today's Scotsman that a crucial factor in Sundays disaster was the empty spaces and by implication lack of Hibbee support.
Maybe something to do with ticketing difficulties,he suggests
This is driving me MENTAL!
Qued for 3 hrs to get seats for friends so we could sit together (them no being ST holders)
Empty spaces all round but especially right in the middle of the behind goal area
One ticket per person
Meanwhile Jamboes full to capacity and all pals together shouting like crazy
How do they f..ing well manage to do this to a loyal and worthy support FFS!!!
Some will say it was an attempt to be fair to all but as far as I'm concerned it was a disasterous mistake that cost our team a lot in terms of confidence
I am writing to Colin Macneil but dont expect any sensible reply

Unhappy Re: Ticketing fiasco

Perhaps saying it was nearly sold out was a bit of marketing strategy to shift the remaining tickets once the priority (ST and Dundee Unt voucher) holders had been served.
The point is however that they have miscalculated bigtime.
Those who did get a chance to buy early would have loved to get a few extra tickets to sit with pals and have a party.
As it was we had to buy in ones and twos ,queu for hours and still have empty seats...and a huge block right behind the goals too!
I just don't see how they could mismanage things so badly.

Did you want Hibs to drive round the doors handing out tickets? The tickets were for sale - a large number of them were not bought - end of. Don't blame ticketing methods for people's failure to buy.

Head in the sand The way tickets were sold was crap. Two per season ticket holder or more and we would have had a sell out.

Hibs treat there fans like crap , just because its a big game we should sell out , when will hibs be run professionally

Btw all clubs treat there fans badly as they know we are loyal. Hibs main problem is that there is about 10k hard core fans who will turn
up no matter what. Thats not quite enough to break even. We must encourage supporters to come to easter road or go to other big games

In essence, what you're saying is that for every ST holder there is a non-ST holder who would have gone if said ST holder had bought his/her ticket, yet couldn't be arsed to buy one him/herself.

No Blue Toon
I'm saying what Ben says ..that Hibs fans and team have been badly served by those charged with ticketing arrangements for this game.
With just a small amount of imagination they could have had a full house

And how would 2 tickets per ST holder have done that?

Any good examples of "imagination"?

It would have doubled the sale to ST holders no?

Imagination...well like Kerplunk says allow an extra ticket with the top up voucher OR
..allow ST holders 4 tickets like Hertz did OR
..allow 2 tickets for the Dundee Unt voucher OR

etc etc

BUt surely those people that are non season ticket holders would of went and bought tickets at the public sale knowing season ticket holders couldnt get them tickets Or do they not support the club enough to do that. I'll tell you right now if i had to sit on my own for that match i'd of bloody done so.

I think everyone on this forum would have mate. But we are all pure mad mental hibs fans. Not everyone cares that much. Its not there fault we should not look at it that way. Its up to the club to get more fans in.

Re: Ticketing fiasco

In my opinion the club left out a huge section of support that would normally have turned up for games like this if they had given more than one ticket to Season ticket holders. People have asked how we could take such big crowds to Hampden for the Livi/ Dundee Utd games but couldnt muster the support against Hearts. The reason is that a large section of the crowds at these games will have been made up by (another reason why it was the family stand empty here) the wifes/ husbands and children of Season ticket holders that dont go every week but would turn out in support of the club at Hampden. By only giving 1 ticket to each Season ticket holder it meant that these folks couldnt sit with their family and therefore they didnt go. We may complain about part time supporters but in order for us not to look stupid at Hampden the club has got to accept them. I know for a fact that this is what some of my jambo "mates" did at the weekend and just because they maybe dont sing as much as ST holders or create such a great atmosphere they at least dont make it look so embarassingly empty

Don't worry I am sure the hibs board will have a full/frank investigation as to why this happened. They will leave no stone unturned. They will then explain the findings to us and make sure it does not happen again.
Someones jobs on the line here

If the club wanted to make me an offer im sure i wouldnt object
By the way that is just one paragraph from my 1000 page dossier. so lets not have any comments on the length of my post, i could have carried on for a lot longer

My point exactly (as posted above). Supply outstripped demand - simple. I could have bought 100 tickets but there are only four seats in my car and only three real Hibs supporters in Peterhead.

Re: Ticketing fiasco

Hate to say it guys/gals but look at where Hearts are in the league and the size of there av support?
It's 3,000 more than ours.
Imagine if we were in second place with a wealthy owner making lots of
noise.
Can't really comment on the ticketing stuff although it does seem that it could have been handled better.
Maybe I'm wrong but in every city you getting a floating fan who does not really have full support for one club but goes to which ever club is playing/doing better in the league.
